Why Early Access?

“As a solo developer, involving the community early on is the best way to get the breadth of feedback necessary to create a polished (and balanced) multiplayer game that's fun for all play styles and skill levels.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“My development timeline will depend on player feedback, so I don't have a specific end date for Early Access. That being said, I'd expect Counterpick Labs to be in Early Access at least through the end of 2024.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I expect the full version of Counterpick Labs to have more gear pieces, stages, upgrades, cosmetics, and potentially additional game modes.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Counterpick Labs currently has over 200 loadout combinations (without counting cosmetics) that can be used across 3 different pvp game modes, including roguelike modes with over 30 available upgrades.
You can play 1v1 locally or online with rollback netcode, with support for both quickplay and private lobbies.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Counterpick Labs will remain free-to-play when leaving Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players can leave feedback via the official Discord server (linked on this store page and in-game), the in-game contact form, or email. I expect to make many updates to the game based on this feedback.”

About This Game

Smooth platform fighter action


Combo your opponents and knock them offstage to secure the win. Play locally or online with rollback netcode. Free to play with no way to buy power.

Build your perfect fighter


Over 200 (and growing!) loadout combinations, plus countless cosmetic options.
For a tanky, ranged build, pair Oleg's might with the Warp Mine's teleport, and hurl Chakrams to deal damage from afar. Or dominate the skies by combining Space Suit's triple jump with Jet Boots' maneuverability and the momentum-altering recoil of the Flame Cannon.

Classic & roguelike combat


Enjoy intense, skill-based combat in Classic mode. Or try your luck in the roguelike Arena mode, where you'll earn powerful upgrades as you fight, from elemental weapon auras to ricocheting projectiles to dramatic stat boosts.
