Why Early Access?

“Roody:2d is a large and complicated game with features that push the genre forward. There are more possibilities than a single team could ever playtest themselves. Early access allows the game to take feedback as various strategies and bugs are found through a playerbase.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“By mid 2024, Roody:2d should have a "complete" 1.0 version where a player could reasonably automate everything in the research tree without encountering a single noticeable bug.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The plan for moving from the current version to full release might include bug fixes, possible block recipe and research costs balancing, and the tutorial could go through revisions.
Updates might cause strange issues in existing save files if an update changes how a block behaves or adjusts world generation.
Possible content additions would be limited to new blocks or new monsters; do not expect entirely new systems like weapon crafting or boss fights.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully playable in the current state with a tutorial and research tree to progress through in sandbox worlds. The experience of playing the currently available version of Roody:2d should mostly resemble later versions.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“At the current moment, there are no plans to increase the price because the current version of Roody:2d is close to the vision of a complete Roody:2d.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As a building game, having many players use their creativity can give a clearer picture of the extremes that Roody:2d is capable of.

• Is the interface a joy to use when building large structures?
  
• Does the tutorial make the building system intuitive?
  
• Do blocks interact with each other in ways that are difficult to understand?
  
• What contraptions feel impossible to build with the current set of blocks?

Feedback can steer developer focus to what needs re-thinking and re-working.
