0.What is the state of the game?

1.What's the difference between "Playtest" and "Demo"?
"Playtest" branch is the one that's currently in development. It will get updates/mantainance/resets. "Demo" is an earlier version of the game, think of it an prototype. It is not mantained nor updated.

2.Why can't I choose a server?
The servers are not official during develment. Meaning there is no choosing server.

3.My game crash on launch.
We use Unreal Engine 5 and its minimal system requirement. The game doesn't stress the GPU/CPU beyond the minimal requirement. But we do have higher graphic through in game settings.

4.I cannot log in with Google.
Please inform the service team through discord to see if the server is down. Provide extra detail if you can.

5.Why can't I just use Steam account to log in?
There is a plan to replace Google account with Steam account. But for developement purpose we are using Google account for the log in process for now.

6.Does this game come out on platforms other than PC?(Switch or mobile...)
Not until the game is fully developed. Currently there won't be extra resources to port the game to other platforms.

7.My game crashes while entering Sky Island?
Some crashes are caused by the mismatch versions of the map due to constent development. We suggest try verifying game file through steam. Right click Utopia No.8 in Steam library -> Properties -> Installed Files -> Verify integrity of beta files
If you still experience crashes. Please inform us through Discord or Steam community with your computer spec, mainly CPU and RAM size.

8.How do I play and where do I start?
As of now, the majority of content is on the Sky Island. There you gather trees/mines "daily" and do farming/ranching/fishing. Some Npcs on island act as shop or quests turn in. The goal is to upgrade island structures level. And with the resources you can craft furnitures for decorating and clothing for your avatar!

The game is still in development and constant changing. We aren't going to make official tutorial until the majority of the content are set and done. But we would record video showing how to access contents in the game.

9.How to get into Utopia no.8 Playtest?
You can request a key code in Discord. Or directly "Request Access" on Utopia no.8 store page where the key would automatically redeem for you during our weekly keys distribution.

10.How do I redeem the playtest key?
On your steam library page, there would be a button call "Add a Game."(button left) > "Activate a Product on Steam" > Enter the key code. The game would be added to your library.

11.Will my account progress be reset before the game release?
No, your account progress will "NOT" be saved for the game release. We also reset them during Playtest for update purpose.

12.What is the game monetization model?
We lean toward Free to Play but the actual model is to be determined at this stage of development.
