How do I fix the horribly low frame rate on this game? Any patches or info would be great

I generally just enjoy FPS games as a time killer, it's more stimulating to play an atmospheric game than an aim trainer. That's usually what i treat all these nostalgia FPS games as Aim trainers with a campaign coat of paint, i don't use slow mo, and i actively try to go for perfect head shots, I could just run bots in old call of duty multiplayer lobbies....

So the boomers have come out of the woodwork again to circlejerk this game for some reason. In reality, this game was totally forgotten about at launch and it is only years after its release, with gaming heavily in decline, that this game seems good.
