Varför Early Access?

“We know this game genre is all about player creativity and player choice, so it makes sense to integrate community feedback into our development to ensure we’re building an adaptable experience supporting different playstyles. While we have our own vision for early access, we’re excited to make a few detours to adjust for community priorities and player needs.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“Ideally 2 years. The major and minor features we would like to see in Early Access will realistically require a couple years to roll-out in intervals. Factoring in time to react to community feedback, the roadmap could expand to three years before we release our 1.0 and remove the early access label; however, if we are unable to sustain our time in Early Access at our small studio, we have an alternate route to polish up the existing content and reach our 1.0 sooner.”

“We intend to expand the game in multiple areas during Early Access, including character customization, new enemy types, spell upgrades, buildables and craftables. With community support, we hope to roll-out some more major updates that would include map expansion, new biomes, and extend game progression.”

“The Early Access release version will feature the following content which aims to provide a well-rounded experience offering many hours of replayability:

A first major biome, present with associated enemies, resources, and recipes across two islands.
Movement modes like Glide and Sprint, various melee weapons and bows
The first tiers of armor, tools, and structures
Most crafting facilities, although they won’t be fully upgradable until later releases.
Inventory system, including backpack, gear slots, equip hot bar, and chests.
Progression guideposts with minimal narrative
Minor challenges and puzzles to earn recipes & upgrades

By December 2022, we had over 4 quality of life patches which brought new decor, creative mode, town centers, skeletons, maces, and many other improvements, and as of June 2025, we've just release our first major update, "Sisters of the Deep," which begins our effort to overhaul the shrine objectives with raids, boss fights, and new legendary rewards.”

“Yes. The initial entry price aims to reward early-adopters for taking a risk with our game before it is finished. As we roll-out updates, please anticipate scaled pricing. Of course, we’re also committed to notifying our community and backers in advance of changes to give everyone time to consider the present price.”

“Our goal is to balance an integration of community feedback and a commitment to our game vision. OUR EARLY ACCESS ROADMAP

The first major update in our Early Access Roadmap went live this June! "Sisters of the Deep" brings new enemies, new weapons, and new challenges and objectives across the Dark Forest, culminating with the game's first raid experience in the Temple of Athena! Take on the Gorgon Sisters to earn powerful weapons from the Gods that must be reforged at the new facility: Hephaestus Forge!

"Sisters of the Deep" is only the beginning of our Early Access journey!

After having prioritized the first few months of Early Access to making quality of life improvements and solidifying the foundation of our game, we're excited to continue progressing towards our 1.0 Release with new content across four more major updates.

We weighed feedback from our players with our internal goals, and we've outlined the features we plan to implement into the game before the final release. You can read that list and more information at the Dawn of Defiance website! Look for the link in the right panel.

As you take your first steps into the afterlife, you discover the gates of the Underworld are sealed! The Gods are no longer here to protect you. You must start from nothing, arm yourself against the dangers of the isles, and break the seals of the Olympians which bar you from your eternal destiny in Elysium!

EXPLORE THE ISLES

Venture across the ruins and wilds, just beyond the gates of the Underworld. With heightened movement abilities, traverse and endure the natural challenges of coastal cliffs, foggy woods, dark caves, and blistering sands to unlock treasure and power amidst reclaimed temples.

EMPOWER YOURSELF

To fight back against the natural wildlife and fallen heroes that came before, you must grow in strength through acquired recipes and upgrades. As you claim victories across the isles, build and adorn impressive Greek structures that rival the halls of Olympus, protect yourself with customizable, crafted gear, and weld together weapons of the Gods.

DEFY THE GODS

After you have learned to survive on Veilpoint, you must seek answers across the Crossroads! In the Gods' mysterious absence from the Crossroads, their shrines are overrun by their enemies. To discover the truth and break the Olympic seals, you must venture into their domain and slay the mythic bosses within.

BAND TOGETHER

Undertake this deadly odyssey on your own, or recruit up to three friends to aid your journey at any time in online cooperative multiplayer. Divide and conquer to gather resources and claim the isles in the name of Defiance while sharing objective rewards across players, so you never miss out.

Please note: We utilize Epic Online Services for our backend to enable cross-play compatibility for those that want to play with friends regardless of where they purchased the game. This requires an installation of an EOS dependency to allow the game to communicate with backend systems. You do not need to install Epic Games Store, nor have an Epic account to play our game. If you are playing on Steam, the only data that this EOS dependency pulls from you is publicly available information related to your steam account.
