Why Early Access?

“SpellRogue has been developed openly with the community from day one. Being open and available to our community is a core pillar in how we are developing the game, and we believe that interacting and being in direct dialogue with our players is crucial to making SpellRogue the best game it can be. Allowing players to influence the game is going to continue, and Early Access is a great way to achieve this.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This is highly dependent on your feedback. We already have a ton of features we hope to implement, but we also want to prioritize what you want to see in the game. At the earliest we might have a full release in 6 months, but it might be much longer.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“First of all, we want to add more variation. Even though the game is already in a fully playable state, we want to add even more replayability: Adding a new Air-themed wizard, adding new boss- and elite enemies, adding more spells, artifacts, relics, potions and mutators. We also have a long list of new features and mechanics we want to explore (some of these might simply be added as separate game modes or modifiers).”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“SpellRogue currently has 3 different wizards, each with their own set of unique Spells and mechanics. The game takes place across 3 Acts filled with distinct enemies, where you are rewarded with all kinds of Artifacts, Spells and Relics. The game also contains a fully featured (and very challenging!) "New Game+" mode, as well as achievements unlocking even more content and loadouts, so there are already a lot of game to sink your teeth into.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are still not sure, but we may increase the price slightly. The price itself is going to be comparable to similar titles.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our official Discord channel is the primary way we interact with our community, and is where you can discuss the game with us and the community. It’s a great place to post feedback, make suggestions, talk balance and hang out with like minded roguelike enthusiasts. You can also post on the Steam forums which we frequently check, or you can follow SpellRogue on Twitter/X for news, announcements, teasers for the future and goofy GIFs of hundreds of dice rolling all at once.”
