Why Early Access?

“Comrade Quack is a student project at the University of Utah. We want to make our game playable and enjoyable at the fastest pace we can muster. To do this we need early adopters to influence the game's development in order to present the most functional experience possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“As a student team, we will keep this game in early access until the end of our time together as comrades. With our current plan, we will be putting out updates to contribute to leaving Early Access at the 1.0 release, roughly the end of September 2022.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to build upon our beta build with add-ons such as aesthetic character skins, more maps, and unique enemies. As development is unpredictable at times we have set our sights on bringing a steady stream of small fixes, patches, and content throughout the Early Access period.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, we present our early beta build of Comrade Quack that has been the fruits of our labors earlier in our semester. You are able to play as Comrade Quack, gliding around to build up turrets that will defend your bases. You may gather quacklings to place in those turrets for a solid defense against waves of enemy pig capitalists. Currently we have one tutorial level and one challenge level.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Not at all. However, there are plans for later DLC to be added for optional aesthetic upgrades.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As the community plays our game in its Early Access state, we would appreciate all the feedback you have for us. We encourage the community to leave take a quick feedback survey available on our community discord server.”
