What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The nature of the game is ever evolving and the gameplay itself is layered in multiple phases which will come one by one, the feedback of the player is fundamental to balance everything properly.

Being a sort of survival, resource management game, it's crucial that the experience is properly balanced and having the possibility to tweak the experience together with the player is a good synergy both for the development, both for the community itself.

We have had a good experience of maintaining and expanding a game for years with our previous game so we learned that this helps in delivering a better product.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“A game like this can be considered always under Early Access, that's because the possibilities are really endless.

We planned a lot of features to add and we're not exactly sure which of them should be mandatory yet for the official release and which of them could come after Early Access, so we'd like to keep things rather flexible, it will come out of Early Access when we'll feel it's ready!

In any case we don't expect less than a year from the actual Early Access release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Starting from the basic intracellular gameplay we plan to add all higher level subsystems one by one: circulation, breathing, digestion, filtration and so on.
In addition we plan to add unexpected events like diseases (viruses, bacteria, wounds, etc) to make the gameplay more exciting.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the game allows to build a complex intracellular system to survive by producing energy and assembling proteins. This is the first layer of the gameplay and can be considered the foundation for all the features we plan to add during the Early Access phase.

That's why Early Access is a good choice, because the game already has an encapsulated layer, ready to be balanced and tweaked according to the player feedback, which will give them hours of gameplay already while allowing us to add the mechanics on top of it.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to increase the price according to the features that will be gradually implemented into the game, this mainly because the features that we plan to have in the released version of the game are a lot more compared to the early access launch, so it makes sense to keep a price proportional to this.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community will be the keystone of the early access development, this is a very challenging game to balance and design properly so the feedback will be taken into consideration to let the game evolve in our vision but by considering what the player wants.

We're a small team and we are aware that balancing a simulation game like this is not an easy task, even a small rule change can alter the whole feeling: we'd like to keep the pace of the game in a "challenging but not frustrating" area, possibly by allowing multiple game modes to satisfy all tastes, so it's trivial that this can be done only by asking to the community itself how they feel about the game progress.

We will be reachable on out official Discord server to directly exchange feedback with the users, we'll be thoroughly follow Steam forums for ideas and feedback.

In additions we plan to embed some metrics inside the game engine to better help us in balancing the experience, especially at beginning of early access phase.”
