Miksi Early Access?

Cool and Good Games is a two-person development team. Early Access would help us to realize the final vision of Starminer and enable us to develop the game with input from players who have a vested interest in the core vision of the game. Through iterating, feedback, and regular updates during Early Access, we want to deliver the best possible game we can.

The plan is to have a year of development in Early Access.

The full version of Starminer is intended to have more units, construction options, a dynamic campaign, and improved mechanics from player feedback.

The current version of Starminer has a full tutorial, a campaign mode, a survival challenge mode, and a sandbox ship-building mode. Early Access will allow us to build and develop these further with player feedback and add more content to these aspects of the game.

Yes. When v1.0 (full release) arrives, we will increase the price of the game.

Miten yhteisö otetaan mukaan kehitysprosessiin?

We have a bespoke feedback tool built right into Starminer’s interface and game that we will be able to receive feedback along with a snapshot of the current in-game state, as well as through leveraging community feedback through more traditional channels such as Steam forums, Discord, and social media.

Feel your pulse quicken while piloting your 150,000t warship between asteroids in the vacuum of space in real time. All with fully simulated physics.

Balance material requirements with power, tonnage, and size while building your fleet to maximum efficiency, piece by piece, module by module. Will you create a large number of smaller, more nimble vessels or double down on a massive station packed with firepower?

Harvest and process valuable materials from asteroids for your profit margins, or use the bountiful resources for the maintenance and expansion of your own mercenary fleet while doing missions for the highest bidders in the sector.

Research for new modules and tools to keep expanding your fleet of ships and mining stations. Build link gates to gain access to new riches in new sectors of space.

The more you mine, the more you build and the greedier you get, the higher your heat signature becomes. Once it reaches critical levels, the aliens will detect you. Defend your fleet at all costs using defense systems and ships of your design.
