thanks for the mod! where are the altmer males located though?

You may have to complete related quets first.

Thanks for the reply, Altbert! What I'm trying to say is that the default Skyrim marriage system works, like most things, through quests. And in this case, MaleElfHaughty as you say is not viable. When you say "you need a silent voice mod," the issue is that the dialogue for marriage (in the vanilla marry quest) has an "IF" condition including only marriage voices available on the formlist. It's not about compatibility issues, just that it will never trigger for that voice type. It's cool to know it'll work with Aicantar, Viarmo and so on though! But for others that does mean that Ondolemar and Nelacar and so on won't work through this mod alone--I'll have to check out your other one, then :)

None of these mods add or alter quests. Also voice types are not added to the VoiceMarriage form lists. This mod only add Altmer males that already have the correct voice type for the marriage dialogues: Viarmo (voice type: MaleSlyCynical), Ulundil and Aicantar (MaleEvenToned) and Orthorn (MaleCoward). Voice type MaleElfHaughty can't be added to the VoiceMarriage form lists, because there are no marriage dialogue sound files.

Other Altmer are added to the mod (voice types MaleElfHaughty, MaleOldKindly and MaleOldGrumpy), but you probably need a silent voice mod to see the dialogues. I just can't remember anymore after all these years.

Keep in mind that these mods date from 2012 and 2013 and the latest update of Skyrim dates from 2015, so there might be compatibility issues. I would suggest everybody using these mods to change to my other mod "Courting & Marriage", which includes all NPCs with the correct voice type, including NPCs from all DLCs and added third party mods.

This mod does not seem to work, after testing.

It adds certain NPCs to the marriageable faction, but does NOT alter the Marriage quest dialogue necessary to allow you to actually marry them. (Their voice types would need to be added to dialogue, with lines spliced in.) The "Marry" quest dialogue only becomes available if a) the NPC is in the potential marriage faction AND b) they're of a suitable voice type for which Marriage dialogue actually exists. Even when the NPCs are added to faction A, they are still the wrong voice type; there is no marriage dialogue available for the MaleElfHaughty voice, and I don't think this mod adds that. (Correct me if I'm wrong but I couldn't find any changes to these quests--RelationshipMarriage, RelationshipMarriageWedding, etc--in the CK and can't find any added quests that might replace them.)

I'd have a closer look at what the mod does to see if I'm missing something, but Steam's method of downloading means I can't see what's being installed.

Alright. I'll definitly be keeping an eye out for it if you do decide to upload.
Altbert  [autore] 2 gen 2017, ore 18:04
Not this one, but maybe in due time my mod "Courting & Marriage".
Skyhaven4 2 gen 2017, ore 16:54
Just curious, will this mod be ported over to Special Edition? This is the mod I have always been looking for and would love to see it on Skyrim's Special Edition. If not, that's okay too. Great job on the mod!
Darkrai 17 lug 2015, ore 7:16
I did all the quests for Ondolemar. I even joined the imperial legion and finished that (since he dies if you take over Markarth as a Stormcloak) and I'm even the thane of Markarth now. I still get the same thing as him saying "There's no pleasure quite as enjoyable as your company." But no marriage dialouge.
Altbert  [autore] 15 mag 2015, ore 3:25
I don't think so!
V 3 D 4 14 mag 2015, ore 18:39
Do you think he can resist her powers, Altbert? ;-)

Have you completed the quests that they are involved in and "The Bonds of Matrimony? The mod seems to be working, otherwise you wouldn't have heard those lines spoken by Ondolemar and Nelacar.
Sabaducia 18 gen 2015, ore 23:32
Ondolemar and Nelecar both say something along the lines of "There's no pleasure quite as emjoyableas your company" upon my coming in to their lie of sight, but still no option to marry....
Altbert  [autore] 26 ott 2014, ore 12:36
Ondolemar is also engaged in the "Diplomatic Immunity" quest. If you have completed this quest, there's still no guarantee for marriage with him! You may be turned down!
Knightus 26 ott 2014, ore 0:33
I have this mod because it sounds amazing and needed, but its not working for me. I wanted to marry Ondolemar and I did the quest he gives you. Also I have not done The 'diplomacy' quest yet. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Or is it out of my hands? BTW thanks for the mod.
Altbert  [autore] 3 ott 2014, ore 14:29
@juliane: No, you don't need to start a new character, but a clean save would be appropriate!
Azzura89 3 ott 2014, ore 14:26
I have no other mods installed, but the three dlc (HF, DG, DB). The mod doesn't seem to be working. Do i have to start a new charakter ? Is there something else i could try?
Altbert  [autore] 21 set 2014, ore 0:39
@Emma: No, this mod doesn't make marriable NPCs also followers, and it's also not part of the marriage deal. For an NPC to be both marriable and a follower, the NPC needs to be a member of two different factions.
Emma 20 set 2014, ore 21:16
I haven't tried the mod yet, but does this mod also make marriable Altmer followers as well? Or is being a follower part of the marriage deal to begin with?
Altbert  [autore] 15 set 2014, ore 1:48
No, the links are only in the description above, but they are all combined in my collections.
PoweredByPoosay 14 set 2014, ore 19:42
can i get all the links u show in this one download?
Altbert  [autore] 27 ago 2014, ore 12:42
If the problem is in Skyrim's radiant AI system, I can't fix it, and it probably is!
Rafa 27 ago 2014, ore 12:08
Nelacar doesn't seem to be working, and from the comment by Addai67 it seems as though this has been something going on for a while. Are there any plans on fixing it?
Thunder_Muffin 28 lug 2014, ore 1:43
where are da peoples?
Altbert  [autore] 29 gen 2014, ore 7:39
All the Altmer are vanilla and have not been added elsewhere in the game. That's why I put the warning in. The 'diplomacy' quest lets you infiltrate in the Thalmor Embassy and makes the Thalmor hostile towards the player.
Earthentine 28 gen 2014, ore 18:08
Love the mods!! One question though, I read in the Marriage book that you could marry Altmer like Estormo and other Thalmor that could get killed during a quest, do you add them somewhere else or can you marry the first one in vanilla skyrim?? Again thanks for the amazing mods!
Smuttie 10 mar 2013, ore 12:29
@Altbert Thanks for your quick reply, I guess maybe he's just not meant for my Dragonborn :)
Altbert  [autore] 9 mar 2013, ore 15:10
@Méw: Sorry, but I really don't know! The only thing I have in mind is Skyrim's Radiant AI system that randomizes NPC behavior. Maybe you have to wait for a few ingame days and get back to him, and maybe even more than once. I have had the same experience with my own mod(s). When activating the mod, nobody seemed to be interest, but after a few ingame days all NPCs in the mod were interested.
Smuttie 9 mar 2013, ore 14:50
Well, done all quests involving him and I still don't have an option. I remember people mentioning problems with Nelacar - him and Ondolemarshare the VA, can the problem be related to that?
Smuttie 8 mar 2013, ore 11:16
@Altbert I got teh Talos amulet for him. I guess I will need to do Diplomatic Immunity and see if he will change his mind :)
Altbert  [autore] 8 mar 2013, ore 1:44
@Méw: Thanks! Ondolemar shouldn't be a problem, he has the same specs as for instance Nelacar. Could be the Radiant AI system. Have you completed all quests he is involved with?

@Dareena & others: Fasendil can not be put up for marriage because he is not a unique NPC.
Smuttie 7 mar 2013, ore 15:15
First of all - I really appriciate all the hard work you have put in your mods, you are simply amazing, giving us such a freedom to choose our spouses. I find your mods a must-have addition in my games and would like to thank you for taking time and creating them.
The only problem I have is that this one seems to be working for all except Ondolemar.
Dareena 23 feb 2013, ore 11:09
Oh please add Legate Fasendil if it possible!
jcstormy 30 dic 2012, ore 6:14
The only mod I had to alter NPCs was the one that allowed the housecarl to stop treating my char like a stranger in her own house but I've removed disabled that to see if that fixes anything. Fingers crossed. Thanks! :D
Altbert  [autore] 29 dic 2012, ore 3:13
Weird! Do you use other mods that alter NPCs? Have you already tried a mod manager to check for possible conflicts? Try BOSS.
jcstormy 27 dic 2012, ore 19:29
Yeah, I did; in all of its incarnations around the province just in case I'd missed something. The market places, bars and palaces seem to be running a shortage in mine. lol
Altbert  [autore] 27 dic 2012, ore 16:28
Did you already read the marriage book ...
jcstormy 27 dic 2012, ore 15:58
Maybe it's me but random truly is random (as in never found) and those found have no dialog. Oh, well. :P
Kirara 26 dic 2012, ore 4:26
Legate Fasendil, please!!!
Celan 25 dic 2012, ore 23:39
I understand, I'm very grateful for modders' work. Only wanted suggestions. :)
Altbert  [autore] 24 dic 2012, ore 17:20
What can I say? I don't give any guarantees, just like in real life. I haven't figured out how Skyrim's radiant AI system works with marriages, but I suppose it is random. If so, let it be for some ingame days and try again.
brendano1999 24 dic 2012, ore 15:32
also addai, some times they work because they alreay have a character with the same voice type that can be married and i dont think nelacar has one.
brendano1999 24 dic 2012, ore 15:31
legate fasendil, you know cuz, hes not a prick
Celan 8 dic 2012, ore 12:46
Hi there, I am unable to get this to work on Nelacar. I have your Dunmer male mod and the same PC can get the marriage dialogue with Erandur, but Nelacar resists her. *weep* I did the Azura quest already and sided with him. Any suggestions?
Vargnatt 24 nov 2012, ore 8:46
+1 suggestion for Legate Fasendil
Differently Rational 16 ott 2012, ore 14:52
The mod seems to work for everyone but Ondolemar, who I've been after since I got the game.
popofufu 7 ott 2012, ore 12:24
It's not like you can't marry any of those races if you are a certain gender, it's that you can't marry any of those races if THEY are a certain gender. Unless you're talking heterosexual marriages only.
