I just got oneshot by a paranoia enemy instead of being reduced to half a heart :/ it was a knight in the cathedral. Also I think more enemies should be set to paranoia enemies. When I have this item I encounter an average of slightly less than 1 type of paranoia enemy per game.

Hi Merlo! Bug report: I've picked up this item several times over with The Lost. Each time, the damage up only lasts for the current floor... which I have usually already beaten to get the Devil Deal. One seed example: ZAKWDQ3R

I think this is a fantastic item idea and I hope that it gets fixed soon.

Thanks to everyone suggesting and liking the mods! The team behind them is currently on holidays/vacations, and it's really hard to get together and make more of these or make fixes to the existing mods. We're sorry, and will be back with a bang in september!

I like the idea of this item, but unfortunately like other people are saying I notice the stats from this item end up disappearing pretty quickly, making the item effectively useless currently.

Alright people are complaing about it. Tbh i appreciate how op it is. My diagnosis is that it breifly gives you the huge stats up, but resets whenever any of your stats change. This includes devil chance and thus it goes away whenever you go to a new floor. Exiting the run and coming back reinstates the stat changes. Additionally Paranoia enemies dont actually ever appear, so the item is dope as heck.

Every time I pick up paranoia it very briefly shows the double damage and then resets back to what it was.

Hey, I dunno if this is intended or not, but I recently had a run in which Paranoia showed in a Curse Room and after picking it up, I found a All Stats (SMB fan) and it overwrote the Paranoia stats.

Idk if it happened before, but on the cursed room i got it i had the x2 multiplyer, and the next floor i didnt have it, but the other stats upgrades stayed.

Possibly my favorite AB item, because I'm a hoe for damage but also some actual consequences.

Had it on like 6 runs total so far, first encounter with actually getting punished haha. Was on Chest, like 3 rooms from end, max hp, cocky and zoned out. A spider that jumped across the room hit me before I even heard it coming.

Glass cannon stuff is always fun.

I know, it looks like the eye from Breath of the Wild. It wasn't intended to and still doesn't do anything wrong imo, and symbolized the object in a good way. I don't think I really should have any reason to change it tbh

Ya I can understand references but I just wanted is for you to be aware that, great idea for an item, but its look is similar to another icon from a different game. If this where to be a reference you should make the item have a relation with the game the orginial icon it comes from.

The item has no problem with copyright, as it is just a reference and not at all a straight copy of the original. Copyright exists together with Fair Use laws, and as this is transformative it definitively fits into that category. Don't know if you noticed, but Isaac's packed with references as well.

Its not that I like it (I dont even have AfterBirth so I can't use it) its just that Copyright laws are a thing. Also its not the Gerudo symbol its the Sheikah symbol.

@SmakeS, I'll look into it. Balance is actually important to the item itself, so the stats boost could be reduced to make up for that. The cry is in just to make the item more fair, and is pretty subtle imo. But I'll definitively try a few balance patches!

Such a cool idea, but no balance. Anyone who has eyes understand that the item is too strong. Five types of paranoid enemies do not even always meet for the run. And few of them can survive from the double damage. And some enemies become paranoid, but they do not attack themselves, they call other enemies (no effect for them from paranoia). And when the player hears crying, he just thinks "okay, I'll be more careful." It is absolutely obvious that at least this crying should be removed. After all, the very word paranoia also means fear of EVERYONE, and not "I hear a cry - I stand as far as possible." If the player is afraid of everyone, then the name "Paranoia" becomes meaningful. And the player will have a real choice whether to take the item from the devil.

Mod is bugged. Damage bonus is lost upon changing floors. Exiting & continuing fixes issue temporarily. Have reproduced the issue with no other mods running.

Other mods might be an issue, but there's not much I can do, since every mod is coded differently. The way Isaac handles stats has always been weird to me, but I tried and made it work the best I could with my understanding of it. If you want more intensive data for testing, go into your Documents/My Games/The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ folder and check the log.txt file. While in a run, if you search for Paranoia Enemies in there it should show the ID for the 5 Paranoia Enemies for the run, that you can spawn in from the console. Hope that helps!

I'm not sure of the reason, but I don't think it's working for me. I saw double damage for the room I picked it up on, but then I think it disappeared.I didn't encounter any PAranoia enemies either, and I only picked the item up on caves.

It might be a mod issue, but I have about 20 or so, so it'll be an issue to figure out which. I have nothing that really "interferes" with items, however.

Okay, conflict number 2 coming atcha. It seems that the mod alotmoreitems nullifies the damage from the item.

So a while ago I reported that I didn't seem to be properly getting the effects from the item. After some trial and error, I discovered it to be the Jack in the Box mod which seems to nullify the item's effects entirely. I will keep poking around and see if I can find any other conflicts.

This item is cool, but the stat ups seem to keep disappearing. Sometimes when I go down a floor or pick up an item the stat ups granted by this item completely disappear. I have to leave the game and re-enter to get the stats back.

i like all your items but having lots of single item mods seems to slow my game down, any chance you can make these into a mod pack that just gets updated when a new item/trinket is created?
