scribbler957 29. okt. 2020 kl. 12.50
This seems to have stopped working with the 2.8 update. Plans to fix? Ok to fork if I can figure out how to fix it?
KingSharky 26. juni 2020 kl. 10.01
Anyone got a mod like this for individual suns?
Every space battle ends up near a planets sun and trying to watch a battle gets irritating with blinding sunlight....
jgroves13 21. mai 2020 kl. 5.30

one great mod
justachild8 11. mars 2020 kl. 5.31
Thanks Minoris for info
Rastro 4. aug. 2019 kl. 7.37
Inaccessible cause it would swallow any ship that strays too close.
1000-7 ZXC Dead Inside 3. aug. 2019 kl. 22.12
and where is the super massive black hole in the center?
Philoludos 5. juni 2019 kl. 9.49
It's working for 2.3 just fine as is.
Syfe 4. juni 2019 kl. 17.57
Please update for 2.3

Thanks.
Minoris 1. mai 2019 kl. 1.11
I can confirm that this mod totally removes the core of the galaxy. Problem comes from the center.dds file, which is just a black square instead of a proper new texture. Until this file is fixed, there won't be no core for anyone using this mod.
肉包子 9. feb. 2019 kl. 21.48
emmmm....It's not dimmer core mod's nor multicoloured galaxy texture mod's problem.Paradox just didn't expect there'll be stars in the core and left the bug...:steamfacepalm: Seems we need sentry arrays for everyone.:steamhappy:
肉包子 9. feb. 2019 kl. 21.26
Found the "dark fog core" problem too after changed to 2.2.4. The "survey"command , "observe" command and the sentry array open the view properly, while the science ships can't clear up the dark fog that covers the core after surveying it.
Nimrod 26. jan. 2019 kl. 8.19
there's no core at the center, that's it.
Alizia 25. jan. 2019 kl. 16.24
When cheking mods before starting a game with "observe" command, all its working fine. But in game when I discovered the core stars there is a completely dark "fog"
ButtJunkie  [skaper] 25. jan. 2019 kl. 13.17
Do you mean it's dark, or there are no stars there? Because this is supposed to just tone down the brightness of the galaxy texture.
Alizia 20. jan. 2019 kl. 13.50
Same here, no core
Nimrod 28. des. 2018 kl. 7.54
well, the core has disappeared..
Rastro 9. des. 2018 kl. 8.11
@Vaeringjar
The last update for that one was a year and a half ago, I think it's safe to call it dead and buried.
ButtJunkie  [skaper] 9. des. 2018 kl. 6.08
Never used it. But it looks like it was released and never updated.

Hey I think this mod makes L gate regions super dark with no team colors. :( not a huge bug but I was super confused why I had no visible territory when I captured it.
ZirconX 4. juni 2018 kl. 22.16
Is there any way to make it even dimmer? This mod helps but I still find the core of my galaxies way too bright and blinding.
Hereward 13. mai 2018 kl. 13.47
Hi, I wrote a mod, Galaxy Cores , and I was advising people to use your Dimmer Core. I've also been using one of your galaxy textures in my own games.

I have just updated my mod with an improved method of dimming the core by removing a shader (go look in the FX folder) as well as the center.dds. As a consequence I was able to dim the vanilla background core to achive a greater dimming.

So, to be able to use your galaxy texture I had to dim it's core also and create a patch for my mod. I did this with all three of your textures. Full credits have been given, with links back to your textures. Please feel free to assimilate the shader modification.

Confirming the blacked out core on 2.0.4
|dvh| 11. apr. 2018 kl. 10.18
Can confirm that bug is effecting me also.
Dr Zhivago 28. mars 2018 kl. 0.49
@Marinho I noticed that too. It started happening to me on the new 2.0.2 beta. After a while it will randomly become colored again. I'm not sure what sets it off. I think it has to do with an empire claim land within the center.
Marinho 27. mars 2018 kl. 0.47
Hmm for some reason the core of the Galaxy is Black even when I suvey the Systems.
Rastro 20. mars 2018 kl. 4.47
Helps your eyesight though
ButtJunkie  [skaper] 19. mars 2018 kl. 21.10
No, it's just visual.
Korlac11 19. mars 2018 kl. 17.29
Does a dimmer core help game performance?
dizzy 13. mars 2018 kl. 11.35
Wow, this is SO much better than either a galactic background with no graphic, as in black, or something so bright youre blinded. Way to go with this, +1.
Gopher 12. mars 2018 kl. 11.39
Ah... Ok, then I shall go comment on that page and track it for solutions, then!
Flambeau200061 12. mars 2018 kl. 3.37
O.k. so I'm using Epic Galaxies that's what's affecting the brightness in 2.0, right? Do you think there's a way to fix this from your side? Or maybe create a bigger galaxy with more stars but an empty core as in vanilla? Because as it is now it doesn't really look very good.
ButtJunkie  [skaper] 11. mars 2018 kl. 18.19
Yes the game changed how it calcualted FOW. Not an issue for this mod, but for mods that add stars in the core (which another of my mods does).
Flambeau200061 11. mars 2018 kl. 9.09
#Gopher. Same for me.
Gopher 11. mars 2018 kl. 7.46
I've managed to get an empire started in the center of the galaxy there, and I've noticed an issue. The fog of war doesn't lift like it's supposed too! Once my ships get outside the core, the fog of war works properly, but for the core? Just the big circle that sits there in vanilla!
Flambeau200061 8. mars 2018 kl. 15.24
As far as I can tell, the core is initially dim - as intended. However, once I explore into the core region and the fog of war lifts, it get's bright again (playing with a 2000 star galaxy).
Flambeau200061 7. mars 2018 kl. 0.42
Strange, sometimes it works and sometimes when I start a new game or load a savegame it doesn't. Turning the mod off and on again in the settings doesn't help either.
𐩸 3. mars 2018 kl. 4.18
Thanks :)
ButtJunkie  [skaper] 2. mars 2018 kl. 14.20
I'll be updating it sometime today anyway.
𐩸 2. mars 2018 kl. 6.30
Would it be possible to change the internal version number in an update so the error icon dissapears in 2.0?
Sweaty Snowman 28. feb. 2018 kl. 17.39
I have this enabled and it appears it does not disable achievements.
ButtJunkie  [skaper] 28. feb. 2018 kl. 16.05
Unfortunately it does now. It didn't used to, but it looks like 2.0 has change this. It's only a texture, it doesn't change anything else :(
Sweaty Snowman 28. feb. 2018 kl. 12.22
Does this affect achievements?
Minion of Speed 26. feb. 2018 kl. 18.53
FYI Still works in 2.0, just ignore the warning. No need to rush updating.
Rocket 24. feb. 2018 kl. 19.28
update?
ButtJunkie  [skaper] 14. feb. 2018 kl. 22.58
Adding or removing it at any point in a game is fine.
TriggerMaru 14. feb. 2018 kl. 16.00
Does this mod work with games in progress or do i need to restart?
ButtJunkie  [skaper] 25. sep. 2017 kl. 21.06
@pikejoshua8 - this mod doesn't change galaxy size. Are you subscribed to 'epic galaxes - size, shape, core'?
