Played this map on a huge server, Very fun.

Though I recommend about at least 5-10+ players.

If you get zed-time on this map, prepare to accept the fact you won't have retinas anymore.

The open space of the map makes it rather easy, and fun to play as a sharpshooter, but you';ll end up having to run something like 400 meters to find the last bloat walking his fat ass slowly across the map.

Hey i was thinkin somethin cool. So its no secret this map is on the "easier" side, due to the vast open desert. I think thats good and some maps should be on the easier side, just like some are on the harder side.

I was thinking for a next version of sahara to be more open like this than sahara 2 was, only with a cool "sandstrom" environmental effect. Im not sure how easy this would be but i thought i would throw it out there.

If you still here , can I suggest a little idea :

Reduce the "Wave Spawn Period" to 0.02 ?? , it will reduce the cooldown of zed spawning, and make the zed spawn become faster and stronger.

Although seeing a bloat walking from 600M away still be a painful thing.

I've been playing this map A LOT. I love it! Would a nighttime version be possible? (Either random torches or lightposts or a bright nighttime moon) I'm thinking something like DeathBasinSands-Night from KF1. It's a personal favorite of mine :)

Norsupaastainen, you should add a mapinfo so you can lower the spawn delay.

This is the greatest map to play in a 40+-100 Man Server. Sadly I can't find it as easily anymore in the servers. :<

Also , my favor server's people doesn't welcome it because they hate bloats and sirens coming from 200+ meters away, the map play waste huge timer, they can't accept.

You can refer this map, this map is 500+ meters long too but zeds always spawn near you.

To nonameman, about siren stuck problem, I checked sahara in SDK, I found there are so many huge field has no path nodes. And some spawn cylinders have no path node near it. That's explain the siren stuck because she spawned in a place and she can't find the Path Node.

The perfect mapping should make all the player walkable fields covered in zed path nodes.

Or it will lead to problem :
1. Zed can't find path and stuck still.
2. Crawlers cannot find path and cause infinite path finding, causes the server harshly raise the latency.

Perfect map, happy to see that its not dark:steamhappy: Ideal for relaxing playing as sharpshooter or berserk. But there's a bug when zeds stucks (siren starts endlessly screams but not dies) and dies near border that 'll kill you if you go far away.

Absolutely beautiful. My one complaint is that the water looks like its frozen. A smooth texture of still water would look really nice.

(They use the 'SFX' audio, instead of the 'Music' audio, so when "Zed Time" activates, the music slows down & speeds up again. Pretty neat to hear).

This is the map I usually play if I can't survive the other ones, lol.


Anyways, will it be recieving an update sometime in the future? There is a bug that causes the trader to not activate, so you'll be running around, unable to stock up for the next round. And it happens in almost any area.

In that little tower there's a big boulder. If you jump up between it and the wall you get stuck permamently.

Really awesome map, but ye, better spawns would be great. Sometimes zed spawns so far away that you can't hit them even with railgun aim-assists. It's fine if it's some fast zeds, but bloats and scrakes take too much time to get. And someone mantioned that that will be awesome if someone weakzeds crawl from the sand. Oh and there is a rock near collum structure where zeds can't follow you even Patr starts to run away.

I've got no experience when it comes to mapping, but you could try to make the smaller zeds rise from sand, maybe?
Like they do from sewers.

This map gives the game an entirely new feeling.
The vast emptiness of the desert is almost like a dreamscene and seeing the Zeds walk around about a kilometer in range is something new.
Really like this map, though sharpshooter is pretty much the only way to go :goodshot:
Also very appealing visually speaking.
