I know that's already been discussed. but can you make a version without the name/letters on top ? Because it's kinda weird to have "Uzbekistan" hotel somewhere in Russia or any european post-soviet countries.

I think this is amazing modernist architecture, and it's not a style exclusive to communist countries but popular all over capitalist Europe aswell.

Someone needs to create a socialist misery Mod that causes the people to always be unhappy, to hustle to stay alive and be chronically be short of goods and services.

damn :D It's gorgeous ... I love the futuristic idea of soviet architecture. My grandpa made the most important deep space and planetary launches, so I clearly see what stands behind that "religion of the stars".
Just love it the way it was meant to be... Their strictness and clear monumental look. And now days these buildings looks so steam-punky) Like made by another civilization, like aliens.

No sorry Nitrous :P I know what you mean, but I like the glorius unimaginative nationalism behind it. Remember the name probably added after soviet union times.. Just google it to see how it looks now. When it comes to all these socialist realist buildings, I find them touching. So much good intent manifested in oppressive concrete. Then the decline, the aging, the modifications that makes them even uglier.. The name is one such modification. Besides, that hotel was never built to be shy! :)
