these are the only actual mods on here that *actually* adds aliens, not just humanoid or Terran creatures. what a shame
Kite Sergal (Ammonite616) 22.8.2024 klo 13.03
outer rim is what i was talking about, i don't wanna flood this chat.
Sunconure11 22.8.2024 klo 12.53
If you get permission, see about getting Outer Rim as well, and fix up a few things, such as a lack of animations, and the whole "Flaming Bone Peoples" thing.
Kite Sergal (Ammonite616) 22.8.2024 klo 11.40
Just messaged them today, fingers crossed

Hello. I commented on the discussion posted in the alien suns outer rim, but i thought i would post here in case you are no longer sub'd to that discussion. I managed to animate a handful of portraits from that mod with custom meshes and animations. I have not posted it because you own the work. but i would like to get into contact with you if you want them and if i can work with you.
Procyon 6.7.2024 klo 12.23
i would also donate to play this mod again
Vault 30.6.2024 klo 13.05
Very sad to see how things have played out. This mod was my favorite when I started playing Stellaris back in the day. Games changed a lot since then, and I'm not partial to the way it's gone either.
Pury 2.6.2024 klo 14.33
It indeed does not work since patch 3.12.
unilateralparrot 29.5.2024 klo 18.58
I'd donate for you to work on this again, some of these portraits are downright indispensable to me now; Fanatic Purifiers just aren't as threatening when they're not tiny puffballs staring straight at the camera.
Cyber_Genet 26.5.2024 klo 15.21
After patch 3.12, all portraits from mods disappeared. Please update, these species portraits are so cool!
Rage000 13.5.2024 klo 11.46
3.12 has broken any portrait mod that is not updated for 3.12. due to the changes Paradox introduced.
kwheeler 8.5.2024 klo 17.00
unilateralparrot, it's broken for me too.
unilateralparrot 8.5.2024 klo 13.21
Is this working per the latest update for anyone? Broken for me.
G_S_Palmer 31.3.2024 klo 12.51
Thank you, I appreciate you being open to it.
S.C.Watson  [tekijä] 31.3.2024 klo 11.51
@G_S_Palmer - Not really a fan of the idea, because that's completely the opposite direction for what I had imagined, but it's fine if it allows people to still use the mod. So, it's all good.
G_S_Palmer 30.3.2024 klo 12.09
I've uploaded the mod that makes the portraits use the vanilla species classes: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3206430951
G_S_Palmer 17.3.2024 klo 12.55
Hi S.C.Watson, would you be ok with me publishing a mod that changes your portraits to use the vanilla phenotypes (aka, Mammalian, Plantoid, etc)? It wouldn't reuse any of your assets, it would just be a patch that people could load alongside this mod.
ElSucioJoe 11.12.2023 klo 19.02
As of 3.10 this still works as intended. Thank you for your work!
tdd.k 17.10.2023 klo 16.21
This mod working for 3.9?
Mr_Daniels 3.5.2023 klo 15.11
@ S.C.Watson Species of Stellaris has been updated. It includes the animated Alien Suns: The Outer Rim species. Feel free to check it out it and tell me what you think. https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2961280882
S.C.Watson  [tekijä] 1.5.2023 klo 21.22
@ Mr_Daniels - please feel free. Link me when you get it done.
@ Rage000 - <3
Mr_Daniels 1.5.2023 klo 14.37
Hello S.C. Watson! I I just wanted to say that I really love your Alien Suns and Alien Suns: The Outer Rims mods. It really adds a lot of diversity to the alien species you can encounter. I am working on a species mod called "Species of Stellaris" and I would love to implement your creations into it. I was looking if I can be granted permission to use the mods in this way. I was going to attempt to add animations to The Outer Rim aliens to bring them more to life in the mod as well. Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response.
Rage000 29.4.2023 klo 5.10
ive been using this mode for years also. My favorite of all time. I have never seen this mod have issues. Still working now and in 3.8 Beta.

Just wanted to let you know that these are the best species portraits I've found by far.
I want more interesting looking aliens in my sci fi, thank you so much for making these.
Rage000 14.3.2023 klo 17.29
this is working fine for me in 3.7.2
MaestroPuppy 23.2.2023 klo 11.27
@7Mile same, its the weirdest thing lol

@Dph Kraken if possible, is there anyway you could post a copy of the last version that was up before the update? Probably don't have it anymore but I was just curious.
Socrates 23.2.2023 klo 10.45
@MasestroPuppy same with me, ive been using this for many years but it just doesnt work any more
MaestroPuppy 14.2.2023 klo 6.18
I play on an older version of the game (2.1.3) and for some reason this mod doesnt even show up anymore unlike other mods that are updated for more current patches like 3.4, does anyone know why that is?

p.s. I'm not expecting the mod to work anymore lol just curious
Barry 5.1.2023 klo 22.34
Out of 2k hours, this is my favorite mod. Cant play without it
jalang 5.1.2023 klo 9.54
Hi

Is there a way to make it so that vanilla races do not emerge (except for example humans, if you choose them) and that all the galactic races (including the primitives and presentients) are from your mod? I find these non-cartoonish aliens more believable and immersive than 90% of the vanilla aliens.
thoth 25.12.2022 klo 21.14
just so you know, there's been a change to the way ship and army names are formatted, meaning armies and ships using this mod's namelists won't have any
The Destroyer of Worlds 29.10.2022 klo 23.18
Will "Alien Suns: Atmospheres" be renewed someday? Enjoyed playing the mod when i was younger along with this one. Keep up the great work btw!
danburite 7.10.2022 klo 18.27
@Rev_Enge(spc): export your playset before deleting the launcher file. That way you can simply re-import it afterwards
Rev_Enge(spc) 2.10.2022 klo 20.16
Is there a way around deleting the launcher file? Not sure if I want to reorder the 50-ish mods across a couple different playsets
Rage000 28.9.2022 klo 19.53
Deleting the file works. thank you. I will keep that in mind for future issues
WalkerSystem 28.9.2022 klo 16.37
It works now! Thank u so much!!!
Hormiga 28.9.2022 klo 15.46
That worked like a charm, thanks!
DPh Kraken  [tekijä] 28.9.2022 klo 13.58
Have you tried deleting launcher-v2.sqlite from your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ folder?
This will clear any saved playsets, but should work to regenerate the mod's descriptor.
Hormiga 28.9.2022 klo 12.32
Still borked. Maybe, you could just revert to old version? It worked with no issues.
Rage000 28.9.2022 klo 12.29
no i deleted the mod off my computer, had issues with steam subscribe not downloading, so went to my collection list and subbed from there. It downloads but still shows a problem with descriptor file
Rage000 28.9.2022 klo 12.22
ok
Rage000 28.9.2022 klo 12.22
claims that its actually missing. Which is strange considering its in the folder
DPh Kraken  [tekijä] 28.9.2022 klo 12.21
Alright, the update has pushed out. Tell me if it works now.
Rage000 28.9.2022 klo 12.21
@DPh Kraken Basically the mod downloads from steam workshop, and it even has the descriptor.mod file in it. When you run Stellaris it shows that there is a red triangle next to the mod in the list. It indicates that the descriptor file is the problem.
