Does anyoine have a way to fix this? I don't think it's possible to use the mouse and the controller at the same time but I could be wrong. Maybe I can edit controlls to make the left joystick button where you push down close that menu somehow? Or make that button cook without using the function of button 2?
A function is required for trading in the chest for the guest. For example, there is 1 gold in the chest, not the owner can take it for a certain price in exchange: 20 branches, 10 logs, 5 pieces of meat, etc.

From client_log:

means the O key press was accepted and sent to the server.
From server_log:
[00:03:10]: [ModifyOwnership] Received RPC_ToggleTag from player 114655 - wickerbottom [BaiSu].
means the O key press was received by the server.
However, the server does not have Ownership mod enabled that is needed, as it marks the built structure as owned in the first place (and handles the actual protection).
Enabling the Ownership mod should fix this. Please note that only newly built structures will be owned (and thus could be interacted with), previously built structures will be left public for anyone to use.

I still was no way to use this MOD
I could not find a way to make it work
So, build some structure (even a sign would suffice for testing purposes), press O , then move your mouse over the sign, the Modify Ownership prompt should appear. If it does not appear, try pressing O again, in case you toggled it previously.
If the prompt doesn't appear at all (so you are unable to open the ownership window), please upload your (full) client_log.txt and your dedicated server's server_log.txt to e.g. pastebin.com and link it here.
And I was the host server, after entering the game, press O menu does not appear.

Press O , a Modify Ownership prompt should appear when you move the mouse over your structure, right click on it.
A window should appear with the list of current owners.
Select your friend from the dropdown, or type (part of) their name into the textbox and click appropriate Add button.
Their name should appear in the list of owners.
Until they fix it for everybody, you can enable UnregisterComponentActions fix mod that fixes it for you.
This mod is a sort of most on servers that want to protect their members, so if someone knows a solution to this please let me know, as I will be forced to remove it if there isn't a clear one, I'm no modder and I can barely run a server but people are playing on it and enjoy it so I want to make it better for them, and its hard to do that when my server log is spammed by that warning over and over, thousands of times. If anyone knows a fix to it please let me know, thank you.

Apparently this is caused by having too many tags. Even though i have set the limitation to 10 players @ownership, but still the problem arises after server has been running for some time.
If it's not too much of a hassle, could you make it configurable to either be enabled or disabled by default, so this way all people are happy? (if they happen to like the Disabled by default option more)
You can change permissions only if the building is currently owned by someone - it's not public. If someone builds e.g. a chest and then makes it public by removing themselves as an owner, not even an admin can make it private again (using the mod; admin can do almost everything using the debug console).
The only exception I know of are the farms.
What other mods do you have enabled? Is it a building from other mod?
Try this - move the mouse over the building that you want to check, then enter into the debug console:
c_select();c_dump()
In the log there should be:
Selected <number> - <prefabname>
Dumping entity <number> - <prefabname>
GUID:<number> Name: Tags:
and then all tags associated with it. Private building is marked by uid_private tag, if there is one you should be able to change ownerships, if there is none, you should not be able to change them.
what happens is that sometimes came to my dedicated server and occasionally I get the option to edit the permissions of chest machines and some other things. but on occasion I do not get anything, just usual and enter new friends if I can not edit the above permissions because it does not leave me the option.
Also mod prints various messages into the log (search for ModifyOwnership , in both client and server), that should help find out what's happening.
