Mexico actually built one of these, although the left entrance ramps are actually left exits instead: https://www.google.com/maps/@21.944916,-102.2898637,399m/data=!3m1!1e3

If I wanted to convert this into a service interchange (like a diverging diamond without the intersections) to go to a city road instead of another highway, would I just upgrade the roads using NeXT 2, or is there another suggestion?

@Anonym!ty the DDI is good for getting off highway and into developments its the superior alternative to the diamond interchange or DI
Anonym!ty 9. Jan. 2020 um 13:05
@alkrak44 it is a diverging diamond, minus the roads physically intersecting each other. much safer in real life and a better alternative to the diamond when 2 major highways cross

this looks a lot like a diverging diamond interchange

A work of art.

This is my goto in Freeways and glad to see it here. It seems to fix the over ramping issue of the gothic design while doing basically the same thing. There is one with a slight angle to it in where I65 meets I20 in Alabama USA which is featured in Freeways game. It has beautiful curves.

This looks absolutely gorgeous.

isnt this just a double helixed version of the interchange to accomidate dual highways instead of a highway letting off onto heavy city streets?

Concerning this interchange and real life, it has sort og been build. See Birmingham, Alabama, and even better exit 18, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I would say those, especially the Saudi one is better than this interchange, because the design has the opportunity to fill less, is more symetrical, and therefore better looking, in my opinion of course.

This design contains multiple offside entries and exits (i.e. traffic enters and exits from the 'fast lane'). As such, it has lower capacity than other designs for most situations IRL. Probably the game can't tell the difference though.

I absolutely love this intersection. They are peppered throughout my cities. I would love to have this intersection that is raised 1 level with a train roundabout interchange underneath. I am currently doing this manually on each intersection. I can not edit the asset since the intersection is larger than the default editor.

Thanks for the great work on all you intersections!

This is fantastic!

I love you're interchanges. They dominate all my cities.
LinaBunBun 8. Okt. 2015 um 11:08
Glad to see another winning design from you. You make some of the best interchanges in C:S

@Shroomblaze: Nothing says "Welcome back" like a chirp from the Shroom himself. Thanks! :D

@hazy_l24: INDEED, M80!!!!!

@roberto tomás: Maybe you need to be under the influence to be able to navigate the interchange ;) (I hope I got the joke right. I'm Swedish so I'm just guessing DWI = driving while under the influence)

@besotoxico.music: Yeah, I remember how wonky the RHW sometimes was in SC4. I managed to make one once, but with "real" tunnels instead of the NAM underpasses. Glad you like the interchange, it's one of my favorites too!

@cerebellum: To build it would require a 10 year enviromental survey to make sure that the trees won't go deaf from the noise ;) You got my kind of humour, cheers! :D

@Xbones1950x: You're welcome! It's an honour to be in your cities :D
Xbones1950x 7. Okt. 2015 um 4:52
Thanks Timboh. You're in most of my cities :)

I'll subscribe to this and not ever use it then for best realism!
besotoxico.music 5. Okt. 2015 um 18:19
I remember trying and failing so hard to recreate one in SC4. Favorite type of interchange not ever yet used.

Yassssssss
roberto tomás 4. Okt. 2015 um 7:03
:) the one problem I see with this is the name.. somehow DWI just doesn't seem like something people would build in real life. — you kow, with it coming up in conversation like "What our traffic needs is more DWIs"

YOU'RE BACK!!!!!! :steamhappy:
