It's potential (and quite bulky), but no lane mathematics. Upon the first exit of each side, it should drop down to the 1-lane / ramp (since you're using a 2-lane exit, then to the 2-lane from the first merge, then back to the 3 lane on the final merge.

Other than that, it's a cool concept.

Happy city building everyone! :steamthumbsup::steamhappy:

Un estilo que jamás podría haber construido por mi cuenta. Recomendable

This design may be shitty but it does have potential for improvement.
- apply what biffa calls "lane mathematics", especially to the side roads that go over and under the bridges. In the thumbnail above they each have only one lane even though they really need 2 lanes.
- eliminate the need to change lanes on those side roads by switching the slip roads around. That way drivers can just follow the lane instead of having to change lanes unless they want to go back where they came from which is rare.

Hey mate, I think I built an interchange you don't have in your collection yet. Is that design even existing?

In Scandinavia, these interchanges are very common in places where you've got a lot of traffic going through, but not a whole lot going on and off the motorway. In Denmark they're mostly used to connect to country/city roads and not for trading traffic between highways, but sadly CS doesn't quite have the tools to distinguish between multiple road classes.

I'd love to see your work ranked in terms of effectiveness at alleviating traffic in high volume interchanges. Of course, this may have already been done.

thanks

@Ghetto Warfare: Thanks for your comment! I suppose most people don't really think that much about the shape of the roads they're driving on. If they do, they'll notice that most, if not all my interchanges are designs taken from real life. There simply isn't much of a need for any new and revolutionary designs, since the interchanges that we have in real life work almost as intended in-game.

That also applies to the cloverleaf. It's fairly shitty in real life, and just as bad in-game. Then again, if you're going for realism, a cloverleaf is almost a must have, since they exist pretty much everywhere in the world.

Oh, and good work.

To previous commenters these aren't just ideas, they exist. Metro Detroit has nearly every US type of interchange now. There's one of these at Southfield Freeway and Michigan Ave. These type can be a real pain in the ass during high traffic and entering the highway on/off side throughway from the clovers also because of how sharp they are. You can't go fast.

How about the weaving-free Frankfurter Kreuz in Germany?

@ironmatic1: I suppose the leafs look quite compact, but when I think of a "squeezed" loop slip road, I usually think of these, where the loop slip roads are shaped more like triangles: https://www.google.se/maps/@51.04157,7.0075268,633m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=sv
Here you can see the design that I was going for, with in my opinion, "rounded" slip roads: https://www.google.se/maps/@51.4615612,7.2885855,628m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=sv

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you enjoy the improvements I made. Thanks! :D

I think the "leafs" look a bit squeezed instead of rounded. But I do really like the collector-distributor lanes. (a great inprovement over the vanilla one)

Looks great just what I was looking for :) Thank you. :Honored:

really neat interchange, like all the other great ones timboh. I can't seem to figure out why they dont have previews/pictures in the game though when selecting them, just a generic image until I actualy try and place them.
Felidae 18 mars 2015 à 16h48
It really looks interesting... Somehow I am into Skylines like no other game lol
Blackoth 18 mars 2015 à 8h53
I really like the idea of this interchange! A dedicated on/off lane for each direction means only 1 on and 1 off to the actual highway direction instead of 2 offs and 2 ons per direction less traffic flow disruption!

your interesections have changed my city. just for that your like the only one i will follow XD
That being said you have made me want to do some of my own engineering projects of my own. unfortunely the best i can ask for is advice from my uncle who is one, but myself will just have to go off of recreating already made ideas in the game.
Once again thank you for the contrabution to both my city, and this game.
:D

how to add to game ?

@mhalabi its all highway roads, they cant be anything but 1 way
mhalabi 14 mars 2015 à 2h24
Are the parallel ramps made of 1 way 2 lane roads?
