Would it be possible to have birds not being counted as animals on the map or something? While I love the birds, I don't want to have to hunt them for food :))

@BIBIDUCRACKOKLM Unfortunately, none of these species currently inhabits colder biomes at any time of the year in real life, so that's reflected in the Rimworld versions too. That said, I'll keep that idea on the backburner for the future because it does sound pretty neat!

@BIBIDUCRACKOKLM None of these birds spawn in cold biomes. The spawn biomes are listed in the mod’s description, or you could use a mod like Rimpedia to see what spawns where.

Hey I tried it on a new 1.5 save im doing a game on Boreal forest so its quite cold but I have still wildlife and I dont see any birds... Iam missing somthing ?

Flying has been added to the owl! For now, it requires the Pathfinding Framework mod, but we are working on getting in-house flying code together that will work with the color variant system. Stay tuned!

@Jenson I can see about that but I didn’t name these species, so the name length isn’t a deliberate design choice of mine lmfao

I’ll need to figure out how to implement mod settings first either way. Assume it’ll happen once I do! Any suggestions for Rimworld-y replacements?

Could you change the names of the birds (or an option in the game settings) please as it looks out of place as animal names are generally quite short and vague in Rimworld. Also for example with the Philippine Fairy-Bluebird [imgur.com] there is no Philippines in Rimworld so it sort of feels out of place.

I think it would be really funny if the birds used the jump pack logic for flying, you could also link the wing/arm hp to flight distance for each hop, and have the legs just be for walk speed

@Roque the Rogue I’m trying to keep the biomes accurate to some degree, but Chromatic Oasis is a pretty fantastical biome, so I think I can bend the rules there. I’ll push a patch when I get home!
