You can alternatively just use sk_max_pistol -2 and not use the addon at all.

is it just me or are the half-life 2 crates mainly prioritising pistol ammo with this enabled? like, the game thinks im critically low with 100 in reserve and is really trying to compensate. i love the concept especially with the half-life 2 gmod creature of a campaign ive dr. frankenstein'd together, its actually a godsend with how the balancing has been thrown out of wack, npcs doing equal damage, arc9, its almost like the balancing was designed to not be touched lol. but i cant use it because of the infinite pistol ammo the crates are offering and with bodylooting being a last resort sort of thing im getting no ammo for anything else at the mo'. might i request the ammo reserve be a cvar we can change for this matter? 100 bullets is the magic number to the eye but to the game its a panic

Yeah, I was mostly making an observation more than anything. When I made my unlimited pistol ammo script in 2014 it was like ten lines of code and it still works, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that someone else actually took the few minutes to make something like it. You'd think more people would bother lol

When possible, I always try to script something that I'll use in my game experience myself, rather than get it from other people. It's mostly for optimization reasons so I can run as little code as possible and also so I can easily alter the code later myself if I need to change something.

Weirdest thing about it is that -2 gives it unlimited capacity, but -1 doesn't do anything.
Valve buried a lot of weird stuff in the HL2 cvars like monk_headshot_freq and r_newflashlight .

You like infinite pistol reserve? You should try a game called Guns, Gore and Cannoli. Pretty fun. Feels like Metal Slug, said by someone who never played Metal Slug.

Oh, I didn't know that. Apparently it forces the reserve ammo to 999.

For aesthetic purposes though, I feel like having a constant 100 ( or the pistol's max clip size as shown here: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3244223840 ) creates much better and cleaner HUD visuals rather than having 999.

Then again, ideally I'd either have a ∞ symbol shown or no reserve ammo shown at all, but I haven't figured out how to pull that off yet.

Could also just use the console command sk_max_pistol -2 which gives the pistol ammo unlimited reserves.
