Yup they're growable buildings. if you want to plop them manually get Find it and Plop the Growables

They're 1 in width and 3 in depth

Just subscribing to this asset and I have a question, what tile size are these buildings? 1x3 or 2x4?

They're also in Boston in the Back Bay along Newbury Street, and other streets in the area. As you said, they were once fashionable single-family homes now carved up into apartments.

My parents lived in one of those apartments when they were first married. The apartment was so small that they had a Pullman stove and there was barely any room in the bathroom. Back then, in the 1950's, the rent was $75 a month.
