Yeah, I'm sorry. I just didn't have the focus to port it to biotech and then the new DLC which I haven't even played yet. It sounds simple but it's got a lot of parts I need to learn all around. No excuse, but hey I do still think about it.

Been talking to Space Moth - How many of you use Klickmala and use Biotech? Would you like it to be a non HAR dependent mod? I've had my eyes opened to the positives of xenotypes just before Anomaly dropped and I was thinking it might be worthwhile to weigh, since I have to do a lot of work to get it to 1.5 whether or not to continue on HAR or make it an independent thing.

Oh how foolish I was to think that 1.4 > 1.5 was not gonna be a lot given it wasn't like biotech.

@Renix Because I simply did not have interest in them. No offense to the creator or those that enjoy them. I don't have the mental bandwidth to try and do things folks want me to mod-wise (They're still there if someone wanted to pick the two up I have not looked) - Either way...

Since I can't even play Rimworld 1.4 because everything is breaking even for those trying to play on older versions to wait out the fuss.. I tried loading up 1.5 with just klickmala and hoo.. Yeah, I'm going to need to learn HAR's new stuff.

Yeah I checked back a good number of times for the ikquans. Not sure why you didn't like them, they're like lizardy salamandary guys. can't remember the third race right now...either way they all made decent shamen in tribal raids with rimworld of magic, I had a few that got surprisingly powerful and were more resilient than expected.

Don't think there's much I need to do in order to port this to 1.5? I'll look into it. I'm sorry I never got on with the other two races, but I simply could not motivate and I overwhelmed myself to try and take on the races I don't really have affection toward, no offense to those that want them.

@renix Not really. I just have to push myself to apply the things I've done to the other two. It's just a matter of injecting the changes.Since I personally only used the klikmala when the creator updated them, they were naturally the one I learned (and am still learning) on. Just with ADHD and other health things, keeping drive and focus enough to apply myself to figure it all out and do it all to a state that's acceptable is sometimes trying. I'd much rather get one race up to a more than acceptable level and port the other two over rather than trying to keep three up to date with every change and thing I've learned to do.

Either way. Moth told me about some changes I could do, like adding graphical changes for the bionics and prosthetics that I've been considering after seeing a couple other races I use do which I had no idea that it could do that. Etc. Maybe make some more things here and there. Etc etc. Not going to promise the moon, but I am getting back into it. Maybe announce when I start officially working on it, When I was working on it more I did stream it to Twtich in my normal rotation, but I even fell off of my streaming.. So.. It's not just modding I lost the drive in.Either way. I wanted to make a callout and let everyone know I'm putting the gears back into the machine.

Hey all, just to let you know I am playing RimWorld again and tinkering this and that.

A fair amount has changed and I'm leaning over to look at SpaceMoth's page to see what he's been working on here an there. I'm waiting on HAR to kinda settle down. Played a couple colonies and included the Klickmala in my current one to try and see what's needing and not. I'm seeing a little of what the Moth was telling me regarding some changes here and there. Though, so far it looks like Klickmala seem to be in a relatively good place and stable. Either the body mod I'm using is changing things or I might need to go in and change the thorax positions a little I haven't had any children with the buggos yet to test, so I'm needing to do that. But I'm keeping an eye on what HAR is doing and noting some problems in the current builds that don't /seem/ to be hitting us yet.

Oh, I know. I'm sorry as you said you didn't try mine. I put a very loose lore for them in mine. Since they have faction bases and all that and not just interspersed into the population (Separating it from the faction blender mod, etc.)

The original Mod authors workshop page indicates that they didn't have any Lore associated with them, they just wanted scaley insect people and shark people. So they created them. They fit in nicely with the avian race and beast people mods.

Yeah.. I'm sorry about the Ikquan races and the other one not being finished but I honestly burnt myself out of Rimworld in general. I've legit done nothing that requires scripting or code tinkering as I just opened my Notepad++ to look at something and the session still had everything still open from July. I have no idea what kinda background and story stuff for the other two races xD

Thank you for your reply DigitalHare, I actually have been using the older klickmala mod all throughout 1.3 and have never used your rendition of it , i only now just discovered it as I came searching for a 1.4 version. As well as the Ikquan race, the only ill effect I had in 1.3 from using the older versions was that they were 90% of all generated characters. With the update knocking out all of the diversity in my Rimworlds, I desperately await the resurgence of these races.

I was given the expansion for my upcoming birthday and all that. I've not played since I went quiet so I'm kinda just getting back into it to look at what exactly is different and what I need to do. Uh, I know that the races mods I used to lean over and look at haven't updated so I have no idea at the moment what exactly needs to be done, but I'll wave a lamp near Moth to get his attention to see what I gotta do in order to bring this up to 1.4, as of now, I've not actually even played the expansion even though I got it the day it came out... So much tends to be broken mod-wise on an update that I tend to let it sit and stew for a while.

I completely understand how difficult it can be to pick up projects after you stop hyperfocusing, I hope you're doing alright and not pushing yourself too much!! I'm sure the majority of people in the modding community will understand burnout and agree with me that you are under no obligation to update these mods, that you absolutely should do it on your own time at the pace that is best for you. (and if they don't agree, they probably don't understand and/or are a massive dick.) this is just part of the modding process, as stressful as it can be.
regardless, this is very appreciated, and I really can't wait to have shark people in my game since sharks have been one of my special interests since I was very young, can't wait to have them commit war crimes and eat people whole with man mod. :needy_heart:

I've made no allusion that I've leaned over and modified and used xml from modders that knew what they were doing as templates to try and uplift the races. I tried to supply a commented out thank to each I did it with, but the files refused to read with them in tact.
The faction map art is done by SpaceMoth who I bothered near constantly with how-tos and 'why isn't this working?' and stuff (They knew they were added here but didn't talk, they do their own personal mods). There was a faction icon made for the Ikquan, but I will need to request it be resent and will convert it to svg for ease of use when I get it.

Despite all the files being downloaded when you subscribe to the mods, I'm not going to hold these 'hostage'. Anything more than stuff to distract myself. Uh. This isn't me saying I'm not going to work on these from here, but if there's someone without the roadblocks that come with my particular mix of issues.. Please, I confer what files I have to them, the Klickmala and others deserve the attention I can only give in my hyper-focus times. If I can get back into that mode I will definitely continue if they're not picked up and moved along, else trying to force myself to work on these is legitimately an extreme effort. I completely apologize, but as much as I want to in the back of my mind, but just.. Doing it is extremely difficult.

I'll do what I can to push myself to resume porting them over in the next couple days. I've been focused on other things in RL and off Rimworld. I haven't forgotten, just hasn't been my focus.

@datboi I believe I tried messing with that variable while I was messing with another mod I was working on/fixing. I'll give it another look when I can regain steam on working on things again.

@Black Wood - If this is an image, put it on imgur, gyazo or something a little more known. I'm sorry, but I'm not following a link to a site I don't know. If I understand what you're saying, when you're using the faction I set up, the pawns disappear or are invisible? Problems do happen sometimes where the pawns don't spawn at the beginning of a mission.. Are one of these the problems you are describing?

An error exists in the ideology selection window.

I want to provide it as an image, but I don't know where to send it, so I'm attaching a link.

The same bug exists even when using ideology after removing all mods.

However, there is no problem with using it as a faction.

Do they need anything? I took a breather from piling all my extra work and attention into Rimworld. Last I tried they needed some balance done but they were in a pretty stable condition. Also sorry, Steam doesn't tell me of new comments til I come look at the store or something lol

Well, it seems there was a red error slipping through my sight stating that I am unable to modify the base healing factor. Commented it out for now, removed a spare file I didn't need in the folder. It's a whole 2kb smaller! Get hype, I guess? Though on looking for some stuff, I saw that the entire basepawn was copied over, I'm intending to trim that down by a -lot-... No need for all of that mess. For now, yeah. Just some nice aesthetic and gameplay tinkers for the race.. Enjoy.

I haven't played as the race yet, but I have fought some as raiders. I would place them about the same as human pawns as enemies, the more diverse movement and sight parts don't seem to make them much tougher as enemies. I would say this is good, but I wouldn't mind seeing them have a slight buff, whether natural armor or speed increase or whatever.

It is not necessary either, it is what you want from them.

Don't worry, I'm not dropping work. I'm just flitting between working on other things, learning more about how to do more things with Rimworld's XML and trying not to burn myself out but uh. I keep getting distracted in just playing and relaxing by working on other stuff... As the Additional Augments mod will verify, lol.

A good time to do so! Remember the permanently hostile group is set to 0 by default. They're a little down the list near the nudist and cannibal tribes because I was beating the faction, trying to figure out a bug (no pun) with them - They weren't spawning a leader and I couldn't force one via debug mod. I should have solved that, though.. Left them where they were, since they're not active by default.. Good to have them with the other couple.

Yesterday's update is what's going to be the basis of the other two races upload. I'm going to leave it for a day or so. I want to play actually play the game, myself xD I swapped my usual gaming streaming to working on and testing the Klickmala. I'm going to take a day or two break from both to just play my colony rebuild. If anyone sees any problem, please let me know. I feel like there's something I understood to be a minor problem, but I can't remember what. I know I couldn't seem to get the player faction to stay the same color.. But that's nothing. It was for a stupid reference anyway, a dynamic player faction color is fine with me. I'm going to remove the "Use at own risk" bit now, I think most of the defs I plan to use are in and stable.

All right, so I'll pull it down to human level. I was just leaning over and taking note that proportionally, insects (Ants in this case) are faster than humans. One species reaching a proportional 47 or so mph (Or 21 meters/sec). But I'm totally fine bringing them back down to 4.6c/s.

Stats stronger than baseline Humans can be a little discomforting for a lot of people. Movespeed is what I'd consider a core stat, as it affects everything a Pawn can do, from working around a base, to combat for melee and positioning. I like the idea of Klickmala having multiple parts that affect the same Health parameters (extra "eyes" as antenna, extra legs), but a solid 1 bonus base speed goes a long way when you think about Moving % and various buffs to it.

Question - Do you guys like the speed bonus that was given in my patch? In the one I'm experimenting with, I reduced it to base pawn level. (4.6, down from 5.6. This is in c/s)

Valid that they'd probably help teach.. But I do not intend on making the three reliant on any other mods past what I have to. HAR is the only one I project for now being needed. Trying to keep it as light as possible while bringing the Klickmala (And the other two!) to a larger integrated potential... Etc, etc.

Thanks for the suggestion, though! The other contributor (When they accept it) and I are using this and a few other things to learn and flex what we can do.
