Hey man, I love this mod, but the overlapping mantles with full 12 hearts is really bothersome, could you please change it so it jumps to a 3rd row? I tried messing with the code myself but I only know the basics of programming and I couldn't quite understand your thought processes, I was comparing the code with the "Visible mantles" mod but didn't get anywhere.

Found a bug: upon using Glowing Hourglass, mantle icons revert to the default Holy Mantle one (found that with TLost, holy card icon transformed into regular Holy Mantle icon).

Also, could you make it so the three gameplay features have separate configs, not just one for every feature? For instance, you can keep the improved order of breaking and the golden Wooden Cross, but disable Wooden Cross stacking with Holy Card. Would greatly appreciate if you do that!

Mod is super dope and easily worthy of getting added to the base game btw

I think this is a bug with this mod, but in Co-op, the second player's mantle shows up in the bottom right corner (like Esau) instead of the top left (like a proper co-op character)
This could also be Lost-specific, it could make sense that it like doesn't see a health bar so it defaults to the bottom right or something. but idk. I didn't test that much

Man, the non-intuitive, wonky Wooden Cross interaction was really bugging me and your fix sure carried a t.Lost run on my 2nd save.

Glowing Hourglass + Holy Card is still a bit weird, though. If you use Glowing Hourglass after the mantle from Holy Card breaks, you'll get a "regular" mantle, which otherwise works like if Holy Card had been used, but this somehow allows you to stack another mantle, if you hold another Holy Card and use it. That mantle seems to go away and the issue fixes itself, if you move to another room, though.

hey i noticed that for some reason if i have both fiend folio and repentance plus installed, its compatible and theres nothing wrong, but if i have just one it glitched

For some reason with Fiend Folio mod the icon for holy mantle doesn't appear.
Everything seems to work fine otherwise but can you fix that.

Thanks for the report on that.
Under the white fireplace effect, this mod's mantles were rendering after your hearts, where in the vanilla game they render on top of them. This wasn't a huge issue on its own, but made it vulnerable to mod compatibility issues as you discovered.
I've fixed that issue, which should make things good on your end. Again, thanks for reporting it!

As has already been stated, this mod is fantastic, but is visually incompatible with the mod Visible Lost Health. Would it be possible to make a MCM toggle that disables the rework when playing as The Lost or T. Lost, or something similar that allows both to run in tandem?

Unfortunately this seems to be a case of Compatibility Hell.

My original explanation went above the 1000 character limit, so I'll keep it brief: preventing the normal mantle icon from rendering requires replacing ui_hearts.png or ui_hearts.anm2, no other solutions.
ui_hearts.png is touched by a ton of resprite mods, so replacing that causes issues.
ui_hearts.anm2 is touched by FF and Rep+ now, so that's a no-go too.

Only solution is to touch ui_hearts.anm2 in the exact same way those two do, i.e. using CHAPI for this mod. But that API is as of yet undocumented and generally not recommended for public use.

tl;dr darkly was right. I'll be waiting until CHAPI is ready for public use before recoding a good half of the mod to remove the incompatibility.

It is at least worth trying to doubt what @darkly77 said and test if this incompatibility issue is solved by just removing the ui_hearts.anm2 file of this mod. I don't think this mod actually adds any custom health, so using custom health scripts would be redundant, if not harmful, to the mod.
If deleting the anm2 is all you'd need to do to solve the issue, I strongly recommend you do it to stop causing conflicts with Repentance+ and Fiend Folio.

To users of this mod: Updating it to use FF's health API is not a quick or easy task, and supporting both approaches would bloat the mod's codebase (as the old approaches would need to be retained, to prevent even more incompatibility issues). As a mod maker myself, I don't this that's feasible; it would be better for a mod developer to make an alternate version of this mod that supports FF's health API instead.

Note for the creator: The conflict with "Fiend Folio" and "Repentance Plus" is that both use a custom health API (CustomHealthAPI, aka CHAPI), which re-writes how the vanilla game renders health. So any mods that change how health is displayed will have conflicts (generally either no visible health at all, or visual glitches).
If you want to support the new API, Repentance Plus is a good reference point:

Found a bug.
If, for any reason, the animation of the shield breaking doesn't play, the game won't remove the shield.
I was playing with the "LowFX" mod and whenever there were too many effects on the screen, the mod would prevent that animation from playing, and i'd get to keep the shield, even though the sound effect of it breaking would still play and i'd get i-frames.
Of course, that doesn't happen without thes mod on, in vanilla, even if the effect doesn't play, the shield is still removed properly.

I think there's actually software that can fake connected controllers. I bet if I spent longer looking at it than I did, I'd find something that worked. So maybe I'll figure out how to fix this some day.

Got it. Thanks! What would your lab rats need to do specifically? I personally don't need or desire the mod to work for the 3rd or 4th players, but if all it takes is being remote connected w/ a few controllers for you to do some testing, I could do that for you if you want to make it more compatible and then I can just leave the game on (or keep reconnecting or whatever) while I do college work or something.

It won't work for the third+ players, and I think the third+ players won't have even the vanilla holy mantle icon show up on their health bar.
Other than that it should be fine.
I wish I could have got it working, it should be easy to implement. But I'd need testing to do it, and that requires spare controllers or willing labrats.

When you say it won't work in 3+ player games, do you mean it won't work for the third & fourth players? Or will it stop working for everyone?
