Would like if you could have a crafting option to turn a folding chair into the weapon and back again.

Don't be so down on yourself, it could be amazing. Maybe you could grab the vanilla folding chairs model from the game files.

Hey I know this is a test/gag mod, but if you can spruce up the model and add a simple crafting recipe switching between a vanilla chair and this weaponized chair.
(see open/closed umbrella for reference) you can have something really pimp.

Is it possible to assign "place-able furniture" tag to weapons?

And by place-able, I specifically mean furniture objects, couches, mirrors, posters, etc, and not the new 3D inventory placement feature.If so, could it then be dropped directly to the floor, like with radios and tvs? Or would you have to use the place item to put it on the ground? A proper dual-use item, if ever the was one.

I know you are a new modder, and may not know the answer to these questions. But hey, maybe you do!
