Kinda. You can use ships with the Wepons DLC, however you cannot use them. You must have the Weapons DLC in order to use them.

we tested the build for couple hours yesterday and it worked great. we think if you try career mode with auto refuel off may be the issue, as the bote starts with the correct amount of water for the reactor to function.

Something in the last update broke boilers, so they keep exploding unless set to something like 3-5% fill, but I don't know enough technical detail to follow up knock on effects to automation.
