Like this mod a lot, but is there a way to alter it so you can build plantations on resources added by other mods?

I know this is a shot in the dark considering how many times the comments are updated, but I'm getting an error where I can't build trading posts with this mod. Anyone getting the same?

Glitch: when you use it with CBP and all other stuff, I enables you to build all units from turn 1.
Agent Smeeth 18 mar, 2019 @ 1:12
How is building plantations in neutral territory a bonus? Not that I think it's not an interesting ability.
snoyan 12 feb, 2019 @ 4:07
Is there any easy way to download it ?
The World is a Sandbox 17 dec, 2017 @ 1:31
It has served me well to stay clear of Civ mods that have brief mentions of bugs in the Comments sections. They will likely break your game (learned the hard way). But it's only fair to turn it around: I've played with this mod forever and with all kinds of set-ups (Community Balance Patch, etc). Never had a problem. Recommend.

Nope I'm on windows 10. I've unchecked all other mods one by one and it seems this mod conflicts with Mez's France - Napoleon's Five Codes. Unchecked it and now it's fine.
Norton 28 dec, 2016 @ 16:50
@Valiullin Are you using a Mac? This tends to cause issues with modding.
Valiullin 28 dec, 2016 @ 16:46
Tried both ways of installing the mod. It appears in the mods list ig, but even though I activate it there's no way to start a game with it. Belgium simply does not appear in the civ list... any idea to fix it?
Norton 30 okt, 2016 @ 11:41
@^9Vnze Correct me if I'm wrong but the education system here is shit, we are very geographically illiterate, and very bad every were else in basics.
^9Vnze 30 okt, 2016 @ 7:11
@ShJames, it is though, failed basic education? :)

Nice mod, although I would 've preferred the Minerva Armored Car
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minerva_Armored_Car
as an unique unit instead of the Chasseur,
but that's just a thought

Download 7zip (it's freeware, and takes next to no time to install)
Download the Civ5Mod file from here -> Direct Download[ dropbox.com ]
Place the Civ5Mod in MyDocuments> MyGames> Sid Meiers Civilization 5> MODS
Right click the Civ5Mod file and select 7zip -> Extract to "JFD's - (insert civilization here)
Start the game up and hit Mods
Enable the mod
Click Next and begin a game. Read the goddam description.
MrZany 10 aug, 2016 @ 23:18
I just subscribed and i enabled the mod, but i can't find the civilization when i want to set up a game?
lololaurens 8 jul, 2016 @ 13:12
The "Linguistic Tensions" event is wrong, French was the official language of our laws and the Flemish people demanded equal representation of Dutch language in the courts.
Kefta 7 jul, 2016 @ 6:26
love these mods dude, but i dont think id be heard on the forum for the events and decisions mod because of its age, but i think that you'd be more familiar with it, is there a way to increase the probability of events or alter the settings of sukritact's events and decisions mod.
Miles5280s 29 maj, 2016 @ 1:18
Fun to play as, although the way the UA is coded makes Albert's AI unable to build plantations at all. I saw him nicely improve his whole territory and completely ignore two incense tiles. Not a dealbreaker of a bug, but it was a distracting one.

TigerWave01 28 feb, 2016 @ 14:04
Would it be possible to use the Albert I leader on a mod I'm using. I would give credit, of course. If you could respond soon, that'd be much appreciated.
Lost_Legend 28 jan, 2016 @ 13:31
Thanks for giving me your mod that I can now use Belgium as a nuking ground to give Brussels a taste of the British Warth. I can now treat Belgium nothing more than a mer animal. :)
zArkham4269 4 nov, 2015 @ 14:14
Just spent most of today trying to figure out why suddenly in my games I couldn't build plantations. I think the current upgrade to the Enlightenment Mod is conflicting. After doing a lot of fiddling, I did a search in the Civilopedia for plantations and only Belgium's entry came up. I started a new game w/o Belgium and the problem went away.
Mojave Neon 17 okt, 2015 @ 16:54
This one was decent. None of the uniques are terrible, but none of them are real great either. The best was the chasseur, since giving ranged units extra movement automatically makes them solid. I only ever got to use the plantations part of the UA. The problem with the gifted military units portion of the UA is that it requires a full-fledged declaration of friendship. The AI is most likely to attack you fairly early in the game, but it also doesn't like to make declarations of friendship until you get close to the mid-game. So the conditions required for that part of the UA to trigger line up quite poorly with each other. You really need to make it so that all friendly civs gift units. The UB isn't bad, but it's not great either since you get no aditional happiness from buidling more than one of them, unless you need more luxury goods to trade with other civs. Overall, I wasn't disappointed by this civ, but didn't love it either.
Da_JFK_xp 17 okt, 2015 @ 13:12
if you are from belgium say: België is het land!
LaughingSama 9 okt, 2015 @ 10:58
First off, thanks for the mod and all your work :)

The Chasseur unit doesnt make much sense since its a french unit originally deployed around 1743. The only thing we have close to it are the Chasseurs Ardennais who were founded in 1830 and noticeably fought defensive battles during WW I.
So, having them replace the gatling gun doesnt mae much sense to me as they would come way later on and be closer to Riflemen or -most likely- Great War Infantry.
I believe having them replace one of these two units and having a bonus fighting in their own territory, or fighting next to friendly units.

Also, an industrial bonus would be in order since Belgium was one of the leading industrial countries back in the 50s thanks to the coal mines. Moreover, the Congo colonisation mostly granted Belgium diamonds, cocoa and, later on uranium.
So maybe a coal related tile improvement/building or a gem related tileimprovement/building would be less of a debate subject than plantations in neutral lands ?

Nice job and good idea! :steamhappy:
Smitty 6 sep, 2015 @ 20:40
i got no units from my allies now im fucked in an early war
stephenhorn760 26 jul, 2015 @ 0:35
Little issue I have, I was playing for a cultural victory so I tried to be as friendly as possible. I got up about six declarations of friendships thinking if anyone declares war I'm sorted for military units. Everything was hunky dory until I got declared on by 2 nations problem was none of them gifted me units and I was up s**t street without a paddle. Not sure why it didn't work to say the least I was pretty miffed when I lost my capital.
Truewan 25 jul, 2015 @ 21:58
This sum of a Civ Leader had 28k gold, and 1k+ gold per turn by the 1800's... of course I play with mods that slow down science, increases per era.
friend robocat 19 jul, 2015 @ 5:03
yes, yes, Belgians are all roads for greater empires, just like in history books
THE QUANMAN 7 jul, 2015 @ 8:31
i love this mod because i live in belgium
Dre 23 jun, 2015 @ 5:25
read a few pages of comments. As a Belgian I would like to list some facts.
1. Yes the colonisation of congo is a disgrace for mankind. We all know
2. Saw a lot of "french" comments, FYI only 37% of our country speaks french. We mainly speak dutch.
3. We once were the 4th greatest economy in the world and the 2nd country to enter the industrial era.
4. the unit "chasseur" is ridiculous since it's a french unit and not a belgian unit ( nor walloon )
5. Yes we have the best waffles, fries, chocolate and beer in the world :)
6. The saxophone, rollerblades, the contraceptive pill, the ".jpeg-format" the smurfs and tintin are all belgian ! Did you know that one of the co-inventors of the world wide web is Belgian? :)
7. Last but not least, King Albert 1 was a true hero. Other kings hide in their palaces or fled. Our king supervised the trenches and patrolled them often. He was even captured by the germans to escape later :)
Enjoy the mod ;)
