The things that are easy to change is:
1. What items are in what item pools
2. Item spawn rates in those pools
3. Active item charge rate
4. Devil deal prices

@medic BF thanks! those are simple to do at least, but does anyone remember how often Sack Head sacks gave us tarot cards pre-nerf? It felt like 50% or so.

@Rumormonger those two in specific were changed for pretty good reasons in my opinion, lol. But hey, if you want it changed, go into the files and change them yourself! It's actually not that difficult.

Any chance you could bring back some of the item pool removals and some Antibirth balance changes? I remember Red Key having 3 charges and Cricket's Head being in gold chests.

@icevault17 Oh yeah! I never updated the mod after Reptenance + came out. And uhhhh, to be honest, I don't really want to have to update the mod every time they make a balance change? So unfortunately, you might want to just disable the mod until they're done with the changes, in which case I'll update everything at once. Sorry about that.

@Bio the Human. Yeah i entirely agree with this. In fact i probabaly won't download or at least use the mod for now (maybe at some point) until i can actually see what the changes are without trying to figure it out through playing with it.

This is also naturally a request to have the changes sent to me if that is easier.

Thanks for replying Medic BF. I was under the impression after comparing some old xml files to the current ones that Super Secret Room (which was the title of one of the item pools) was the red rooms....

The reason I was looking is I was trying to add C-Section to angle rooms instead of what I believe it to be only found in Red Rooms currently.

ᴼDAE It does work with Fiend Folio, yes. The Fiend Folio stuff is just added on top of it. However, I have no Fiend-Folio specific changes.


Secondly, there is no such thing as the super secret item pool. Super Secret rooms have identical item pools to normal secret rooms. However, there's almost never any items that spawn in super secret rooms, so the only way to notice this is to use an item like Mystery Gift in them.

I would not say conflict since the entries into the xml file are overwrites, where the latter entry in the load order takes precedence.

@TeKett basically, my "Mod" is actually kind of...not really a mod? It doesn't actually use code. Instead, all of the item pools are in one massive file, and I made like 200+ changes to it.

However, if you download another mod that does something similar to mine (change item pools by editing that file), then the two mods will conflict, because there's only 1 item pool file.

Sorry @Dolos The Treacherous, I can't. This mod actually doesn't use Lua at all, it only edits the XML files. Maybe I could just add a blank main.lua file with just that line of code, but I feel like that might lead to other issues.

Out of curiosity, would you be able to make a basic main.lua with a line to the effect of:

ItemPoolRework = RegisterMod("Item Pool Rework Mod", 1)

This would allow other mods to check if your mod is enabled when running.
