if you missed it, I thought you might be interested in the following ?
I have installed both, but not had time to play them yet:
the 1st 2 are:
2 x portal 2 mods
1 free & 1 cheap
supported by steam
can download & install easily, from steam store.
(I suggest dowloading at off peak times, when internet trafic is low, to prevent data loss or corruption)
http://steamproxy.net/steamstore/search/?snr=1_4_4__12&term=Aperture+Tag+The+Paint+Gun+Testing+Initiative#term=portal%202%20mods&sort_order=ASC&page=1
just took my own advice & did another manual backup.
when I had problems with my new pc, my complete windows backup,
did not work.
& I ended up having to re-install my operating system.
so manual backups of priority items, served me well :)
if steam & portal just installed, open puzzles on your pc.
delete what is inside puzzles & replace with a copy from your backup.
what is in puzzles, to inside puzzles on your pc.
this works with new operating system or new pc.
however don't delete maps on your pc, that are not backed up.
I have successfuly done this after a new operating system & after a new pc.
when my old pc died, I used a external hard drive dock, to place the hard drive out of my dead pc into. then accessed my maps using my new pc, copying them to it.
when completed, in the editor, the restored maps look like default new maps.
just click build, to see your finished maps.
my internet provider verified it was google.
as for your present & future maps, back them up.
they are the only thing steam wont restore.
path to portal 2 maps on a windows 7 home premium 64 bit pc.
start / computer / C drive (or which ever one your operating system is on) /program files (x86) / steam / steam apps / common / portal 2 / portal 2 / puzzles.
then copy puzzles (which are your maps) to a external drive.
I have lost the ability to edit all my maps from about a month back and before. My newer ones are in the editor but all the older ones are now the way they stay.
thankyou
if you need any hint's just ask.
I am having problems with youtube / google.
so I don't know how long I can publish video's.
they want me to create a new email address & verify it by sending a text to my phone.
they have no right to my personel phone number.
luckily the video's to these 2 maps got published :)
I have added more of your maps to my list.
trying to fire portals, in mid air, & take the cube with me, took a while.
& the final part, I also found hard.
did not help myself, on 1st attempt, at last part, trying it with the infinite drop :)
but got there in the end, without infinate drop.
you were kind. allowing in & out of portals, as much as we like, to aim portal correctly.
this was my 2nd visit.
did not enjoy 1st time=I failed.
but this time was good fun, when I got into it.
thumbs up.
I have a 2 part map, if your interested.
I will leave a link to part 2, on another of your maps:
http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=287835782
ps. you will know at least some of the demo map, as you used 1 aspect yourself.
Here's my blindrun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Xlk_z0HSEs
Oh and thank you for playing and recording a video for me.
Getting the solid cube, I probably exploited this part, but you can sneak a portal on the upper high ceiling pass the grating standing on the floor, and that is how I picked up the light bridge.
Thumbs up for the fun factor!
