This is a cool mod, but it's really annoying that you can't put a wooden handle onto the hatchet. It honestly makes no sense to me that that handle is all metal, handles that look like that are usually mostly plastic anyway, and could be drilled off and replaced with wood like a normal axe.

How is this supposed to work? In 41.78.7, there is only a default repair window, it is impossible to separate the axe from the ax handle :(

I agree that this mod is too easy. Tried it and ended up switching to Renewable Axes which is much more balanced in my opinion. Still, this one works fine.

if you can use wood glue and depending on carpintery level this mod will be perfect cuz that craft is easy and broken for Axeman builds.

Far too easy mod, I prefer the one included in "Workshop" mod. You remake the handle, which is understandable, but what about damaged blade? On high carpetry levels, this makes axe recrafting easy-peasy and ruins Zomboid interest.

@creedpitbull I beleive it is AxesRecrafting - I found it under the mods in game and it seems to give a discritption ALONG with the ID and workshop ID.

i would love it if this mod would take your carpentry level into account when recrafting axes.
i dont know if its possible to do that, but potentially have recrafted axe's durability scale with your carpentry or maintenance level.

Can you add Pick Axe to the Mod ?
I thinks Pick Axe also on Axe weapon type and there already a Pick Axe handle in the game file but I'm not sure about it.
Just my suggestion tho, love your Mod, Zomboid need more rework on Weapon Crafting.

Unless you only keep hunting knives, they seem to be fine.

I think the recipe for making new handles broke, the knife is lost now for some reason.

this mod is way too op even with just 1 axe to fix alone im shredding through insane izi . also it should have the pickaxe . and the handle crafting should say which type of axe the handle is for . maybe limit it to 1 or 2 fix alone

Could there be a possible update for taking only chunks of the durability of knifes until they break? instead of just having to need one knife for each handle?

Axe handle is not recognized, already tried all possible methods to craft a handle, none is working. The idea of the mod is great though, please fix it.

Sometimes axe handle is not recognized, looks like it depends on how it was made.

Cool mod, although you should consider removing Nails from the recipes. To recraft an axe handle you really just need the wood and something to shape it. Once it's the right shape you slide the axe head on from the bottom of the handle. The top is wider than the bottom so it doesn't slide off.

Alternatively there are heads that fit directly on top (like the fire axes) and in this case you use shims in a slot at the top. In either case, a hammer and if needed something sharp and the material (wood or plastic) to make shims is all you need.

ENG surviors:
1. You have to craft ax handle from the board FIRST (request tools on title image).
2. R-click on broken Axe - repair - select via ax handle.
3. The success of the repair depends on the level of the construction skill (min lvl3).

actually, you don't need to saw off the ax blade at all.
