do you have any idea on how to get the torpedoes to face a constant heading after launch, so if they get turned/bumped during launch, they will correct their heading?

I tried the reverse thing but it doesn't really help with stability. Just did an update that will hopefully stop the pistons from bugging out again and not extending. It's a bit more reliably now, but I'll keep updating it.

I definitely think having them apply a controlled one-second burst of reverse is the solution here.

Thanks the suggestion, having them reverse when releasing should help. The problem with the pistons is that they bug out all the time, sometimes don't release or get shaky. And tracks aren't fast enough.

I would just add too that the torpedos are far too tempermental at present, too. I really recommend using pistons to push them out of the rear of the boat or some method that allows them to be propelled slightly in reverse for a sec or two. Even with the most stable approach, I often find at least one torp wont release.
