Allow me to ask; you copy/pasted the script to implement them into the ror system as well and that worked?
Really the scripting work is all that's preventing me from porting it in an afternoon or so (as well as maybe some tweaking on some of the other units).
It will be. Hopefully sooner than later. I just need to find an afternoon or so to sit down and do it.
I intend to port it to WH3 eventually. I have a lot of real life commitments at the moment that highly restrict my ability to sit and do this (and my other mods) justice.
Thanks!
This is a fantastic mod and it is definitely one of my favourites. Take all the time you need to get it into Warhammer 3. I am glad to hear that it will one day make it to IE and I greatly look forward to that :)
I intend to port a selection of my mods over, including this one, yes.
Surely not on day 1, and I will be honest in saying it might not happen for some time after either, as other life commitments will be coming up shortly after the immortal empire release. Not to mention, it is more than merely copying/pasting the existing data over, and I would like to keep the mods as high quality and polished as they deserve to be.
Gonna be frank with you bro. I ain't doing that. Go nuts if you wanna make it tho.
Not intended. Not easy to fix.
When was the last time you used it?
Thank you. Updated. Good eye. Surprised nobody saw that until just now.
They are based on officially created but ultimately unused voice lines that are in the game's files, yes.
Done!
I have one question though, im sure you got asked already but i couldnt find the answer.
These new RoR's can be recruited by every faction of the same race. So for example, if im playing Mors, i fight Eshin armies that have the exact same RoRs. Its the only thing that bothers me about this mod.
Is there any way to prevent this from happening like with regular vanilal RoRs?
Cheers!
I'm not sure what to say tbh. It 'should' work just the same, as little changed between the exact contents of the original mod and this one, but computers are fickle like that. Sorry.
Yes, it should work with Throt.
@MasterOfGrey
I don't know how it works disabling the old one then putting the new one on. Try ending turn to refresh the ror recruitment pool script maybe?
@Canadian Marshmallow
I'll look into it. I figured it would sort of 'automatically' work based off of them being under skv_inf, but there might be some new tags to add or something.
@John Matrix
I don't really think I can fix any of those issues. I'll see what I can do.
Also, these RoRs are recruited by the AI as well, from multiple factions within the same race. Im playing Skryre, and Mors and Eshin both are running around with these RoRs. It's a bit lame, is there an easy fix or it is how it is?
Thanks anyways! Great work
I'm not sure what you mean. Like the camera shakes when you zoom in on them? I know that happens when you zoom in on cav running. Past that, I have no idea. I just played a test battle with them and it seemed normal.
@Woizer
I considered it, but it didn't feel proper for a spearmen ror to become a different unit essentially become a different unit. Doing that on big flashy units like the rogue idol is different than doing it for something as basic as tier 1 inf.
I have no intention of implementation for non-playable factions.
If you would like to edit the mod to allow for a new faction to recruit the units you need to;
-open the mod in rusted pack file manager, then go the the script folder and open the script to edit. It will look pretty straight forward, each unit going into each faction is in a separate chunk in the advice_all_ror_setup() function, make a new line for each unit, copy/paste the one above it and switch in the faction's name reference (findable in the main data file, in something like faction_banner_tables). Repeat for each SKAVEN unit and each faction, note there are helf ones in there too.
-switch to the db folder, and create appropriate entries in the 'units_to_exclusive_faction_permissions_tables' and 'units_custom_battle_permissions_tables'. The layout of the tables and what to do should be obvious. Just copy/paste lines for each unit, and edit the faction entry.
It's sorta off the top, but that should be it.
Its not just to play as them but also seeing them more around because its fun seeing the ai use the new RoR units(because apparently they recruit them as I once saw in a Clan Mordkin campain).
If there arent any plans with this, can I just do it myself without dorking my game? (I see you answered this kind of question, but would it work for like all skaven factions?)
The official ror from that clan (Clan Vulkn Tailslashers) uses the 'Vulkn' spelling of it.
