does anyone know what is the range when is starts working
Grizzly 9 maj, 2022 @ 7:18
Thanks.
Cake  [skapare] 8 maj, 2022 @ 12:59
Yes thats fine Grizzly go ahead
Grizzly 7 maj, 2022 @ 11:55
I really like this locator. Is it OK to use this in an uploaded creation of mine with proper credits??
Kahrstrom 5 jan, 2022 @ 15:47
Thank you, much appreciated!
Cake  [skapare] 5 jan, 2022 @ 15:40
yes Kahrstrom go ahead

Are you ok with me using a modified version (re-skinned to fit my other displays and added a loading screen and night mode) of this in a vehicle I upload to the workshop?
AKD 9 jul, 2021 @ 16:07
Added to my first boat and seems to work pretty well testing with a handheld transponder dropped at the dock before I head out. Two small issues, one which was easy to fix editing the script:

1. "loose" is probably not the correct word here (as in "my pants are too loose"). I changed mine to "GAIN" and "LOSS" as in "GAIN" on signal, "LOSS" on signal.

2. Even when moving directly toward or directly away from the transponder at speed (approx 40 knots), the screen flops between signal GAIN and LOSS, although it does tend toward the correct reading. However, it switches back and forth frequently enough that it is somewhat difficult to tell if you are gaining or or losing the signal until the distance itself changes. I wonder if something could be changed in the script?

If a beacon locator is not connected or not turned on, it might get stuck on <400m. Make sure beacon locator is always on, its power usage is close to 0
Statsus 8 maj, 2021 @ 10:47
but how do you make it start scaning
Toastery 8 maj, 2021 @ 10:41
That means there is a beacon less than 400 meters away, that is if its hooked up correctly
Statsus 8 maj, 2021 @ 10:13
How do you use this?
It's connected but it only has the:

Locate
<400M

Nice pusher :)
Oxyligen 9 feb, 2021 @ 7:00
Thank you for your nice work. I used it in my creation: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2389608998
Cake  [skapare] 30 jan, 2021 @ 17:26
Thanks!

I've used your microcontroller in my creation and credited you. It's a really good beacon locator!
Stickan 16 dec, 2020 @ 15:14
Cake thanks man! it means a lot the comment ;)
Cake  [skapare] 16 dec, 2020 @ 13:33
Good looking boat and photo edited picture :)
Stickan 16 dec, 2020 @ 12:03
I have installed it on my creation, you can find it here https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2311872212
Cake  [skapare] 11 nov, 2020 @ 17:12
Go ahead, please credit me or link this page if you upload though :)
Neo 11 nov, 2020 @ 11:35
Can I use this on my boat?
MatrixRTX 5 okt, 2020 @ 15:44
Glad to know that, been always wondering why modules when one can simply just code it in Lua
Cake  [skapare] 5 okt, 2020 @ 15:22
The memory register and subtractors counts the time between the pings, doing it with gates turned out to be more reliable in multiplayer, as LUA doesnt always load/sync for some players.
MatrixRTX 3 okt, 2020 @ 16:20
This is a great creation! I spawned it and was trying to understand it, I got the part for channel 1 number (the variable declared as "distance"), but I got totally lost for the 2nd channel, the memory register and 2 subtract components sorta formed a loop kinda thing? a lil hints?:BL3Shrug:

Send me a friend request and join my game, ill make it for you :)

Is it possible to change the output from video monitor to a simple numerical indicator, for those playing classic career and no access to monitors yet?
Rum 3 okt, 2020 @ 9:13
I finally got it working! Thanks a ton for making this finder! It made looking for the beacons a whole lot less tedious.
Rum 2 okt, 2020 @ 13:42
Ooh, okay. I see now. Thanks!
Cake  [skapare] 2 okt, 2020 @ 13:39
Its saved as a workshop VEHICLE :) If you save the 1x2 microcontroller, u can place it wherever you want. Remember to connect it to a monitor and a beacon finder sensor :)
Rum 2 okt, 2020 @ 13:02
I'm totally new to this game, but how do you actually open this as a part? I'd like to place it in my ship but I have no idea how to do that.
Cake  [skapare] 25 sep, 2020 @ 14:48
Talk if u need any help with- or things i can improve on it :)
Solus The Immortal 20 sep, 2020 @ 15:37
im not good with logic but i learn from using what other people who are make :D
Solus The Immortal 20 sep, 2020 @ 15:34
Gotcha lol
Cake  [skapare] 20 sep, 2020 @ 15:13
Yeah sorry i posted this as an example vehicle :)
Solus The Immortal 20 sep, 2020 @ 15:08
it does'nt show up in the parts list in the designer as a MC
MonkeyKing73 28 aug, 2020 @ 19:30
Shareing is what is the workshop is for!
Cake  [skapare] 14 aug, 2020 @ 17:04
Yeah go ahead :) ..do whatever u want with it, what is life without sharing.
A CBC Broadcast 14 aug, 2020 @ 12:21
Hi! I am wondering if I can use this on a craft? With credit ofc
Cake  [skapare] 11 aug, 2020 @ 19:04
I believe you can host, but the further between the beacons the better. Triangulation isn't hard once u've mastered the basic trigonometry. Look around on WS, u might find what u need :)
hostbanani 10 aug, 2020 @ 8:02
if you place 3 beacons on the ship you can determine the approximate coordinates?
Zachatttack227 11 jul, 2020 @ 17:40
Thx!
Cake  [skapare] 15 apr, 2020 @ 15:47
I would like that, but the signal from the beacon is the same if u r 400 meters away, or 1 meter away. so minimum distance is about 400 meters
znanode404 15 apr, 2020 @ 15:15
Is it possible to make this go to 0.4, 0.3, 0.2, 0.1 km on the screen?
Malin 12 apr, 2020 @ 20:32
@Dinobino I lost signal around 90,000 to 100,000 km. Didn't test to much to find a definitive distance that I lost signal at. At about 93,000 km away I got a reading of about 97,000 km away. This discrepancy may be explained as not getting frequent updates in signal distance. At about 100,000 km away I got a reading of about either 413,000,000 km or 413,000 km away.
Kake 12 apr, 2020 @ 8:30
whats the max range
MagicPotatoBean 11 apr, 2020 @ 10:20
dank
Pie 11 apr, 2020 @ 8:20
super nice
