I love your mods, as both of them take civs that are really not seen in other people mods! It seems you stopped doing them, so thank you for the ones you did.
SuiSui 10. juni 2022 kl. 16:55
Weird thing happend. Shinko-sen is immune to plundering you say, but it is actually said that "While defending, your Shinko-sen was destroyed by a German Caravel (0 damage)". Therefore it is considered as a unit without abilities to defend like military engineers.
SuiSui 10. juni 2022 kl. 14:29
I really love this civ, the idea of having the unique trader unit is so genius, and I am really enjoying to play on TSL map. Even if on tiny little island, the city become very strong.
LordUji  [ophavsmand] 7. nov. 2021 kl. 11:49
It's not easy, but I play this only on ynamp. I get over it fine, personally.
WAH 2. nov. 2021 kl. 6:56
Gets galley rushed by Japan every single time on YNAMP tsl earth lol

Beautiful portrait with the teal blue that matches Okinawa perfectly.

kudos

@Homusubi
Right. But King Shoshin focused on reorganizing Ryukyu Shinto.
So in this case, Shinto is right.
Koizumi Yokumo 10. mar. 2021 kl. 2:48
For what it's worth, Confucianism would be a more historically accurate choice of preferred religion for Ryukyu than either Shinto or Buddhism.
choijanggyu 4. mar. 2021 kl. 19:02
@Lord Uji
Then, What is your opinion on the three ideas below?
1. Change AI Favor to Shinto.
2. Yukatchu can be trained if Kumemura is built to AI use Yukatchu.
3. Add project of the Send Scholars Abroad project in "Sengoku Monogatari - Ryukyu" mod. I will also ask him about this idea too.

I just thought these changes would make the mode be more similar to Ryukyu, so I came up with an idea.
choijanggyu 4. mar. 2021 kl. 4:58
@Lord Uji
Okay i will try that and upload a modified version with your name.
choijanggyu 2. mar. 2021 kl. 22:33
May I make new version if this mod? I just want to add and fix a few things.
Laguette 10. dec. 2020 kl. 5:53
Absolutely love this mod btw
choijanggyu 27. okt. 2020 kl. 17:03
Maybe AI favored religion is Shinto right, not Buddhism.
Roachgelion 25. juni 2020 kl. 17:49
FYI, I found this mod is not working with CQUI to certain extant. Mostly working, but Yukatchu cannot be found while using CQUI. I think it's because CQUI has a single column (having production+purchase in one column) for a city production tab. Shinko-sen appears correctly.
LordUji  [ophavsmand] 17. maj 2020 kl. 16:23
Thanks for the words. Kumemura has been updated. I did not change the district description text, but you will see it in the 'pedia, and when placing the district.

The Ryukyu AI didn't have any sea trade routes (it was a Seven Seas map IIRC), but on land, definitely! I wonder if somehow the unit having a promotion causes it to register as not civilian for the purposes of "unit piling".

To be specific, I was not allowed to choose the tile with the shinko-sen as the target of a movement with a mouse click. My units could move through the tile normally, though, and I don't remember whether a shinko-sen moving into a delayed target tile would cause the unit to go back to direct control. I didn't pay enough attention to tell whether this affected the other AIs.
LordUji  [ophavsmand] 1. maj 2020 kl. 16:05
Did this occur on both land and water?
circeus 1. maj 2020 kl. 15:50
I appreciate your responsiveness, I still played with the civ as is, and greatly enjoyed it (though I completely forgot to ever buy a Yukatchu). I like when the uniques generate something of a minigame that is not too distracting, and the Shinko-Sen definitely do!

I remember that when Ryukyu was an AI in a previous game, I could never land my units on top of a Shinko-Sen. Is that normal/unavoidable?
circeus 30. apr. 2020 kl. 10:49
I'm not sure that the Kumemura should miss the default minor adjacency from districts. The Hansa, Suguba and Acropolis all retain it despite how strong their other bonuses are as-is. This is _especially_ the case given that the Kumemura, unlike any of these, does not get any major adjacency bonus, so its average adjacency is really not that much higher than that of a normal campus district, while simultaneously much harder to achieve in practice unless you have a LOT of coast to work with.
LordUji  [ophavsmand] 8. mar. 2020 kl. 21:43
@matt.f.garrett The Shinko-sen will only accrue great person points while within two tiles of a foreign harbor
LordUji  [ophavsmand] 8. mar. 2020 kl. 21:41
@howevah. Good find. These are technically not *the* Trader unit, merely a unique unit in the trader class, thus the effect doesn't apply to them.. so they can still be plundered on land. I would have to update the Reform code to include the Shinko-sen, or another method. I will look into it.
MattG123 6. mar. 2020 kl. 12:47
The trader ability doesn't seem to be working. I use the promotion, but i am not noticing any increase in great people points per turn... Is there more to it than just selecting the upgrade? I'm playing on Gathering Storm, latest upgrade. The mod says it's fully compatible.
howevah 1. mar. 2020 kl. 7:22
Found an annoying bug, when your in a golden age and have Reform the coinage the "trader" is still being pillaged on land routes.
Other then that I like this mod m8
sinister_ROA 30. jan. 2020 kl. 10:43
The Kumemura should cost half the production of a usual campus, this would give them some chance at an early Hypasta (sp?) and sync with the idea that they are going for great scientist and merchants.

I found a little issue, the Yukatchu science from combat ability is been applied to almost all combat units, since it is applied to different military unit classes rather than only the Yukatchu at the TypeTags table. Otherwise, great work! :D
LordUji  [ophavsmand] 16. dec. 2019 kl. 21:47
Considering the strength of fully planned adjacency as-is, I will consider adding a reef bonus to the Kumemura.
Zim 15. dec. 2019 kl. 9:46
The civ feels really rewarding to play. Only thing for me is that the unique district is very pretty, but feels worse than the normal one, so you hardly build it. Maybe still getting the +2 from reefs could make it a but stronger? Not sure still really enjoyed playing!
LordUji  [ophavsmand] 7. dec. 2019 kl. 21:59
Fixed
LordUji  [ophavsmand] 7. dec. 2019 kl. 20:29
@DarthJarJar. Crap, I know exactly what that is. A simple fix, will-do when I get home in an hour.

Sui Generis has added support for this mod! Just so you know :)
Mojave Neon 7. dec. 2019 kl. 14:20
This one was absolutely fantastic to play as. They can be quite strong, but that's quite situational and requires a lot of strategic planning. I liked how the UUs helped keep them from being OP by being useful but highly situational, both are limited enough that having both didn't feel excessive at all. The production quality of this mod was incredibly high as well, the changing visuals for the kumemura was a nice touch. Only even slightly off thing I noticed was that occasionally the promotion chart for the Shinko-sen would display an option that appeared to be the code in capital letters instead of the normal promotions, but even that only popped up a few times. Overall, you did an incredible job, and this is one of the finest mod civs released for VI so far.
LordUji  [ophavsmand] 6. dec. 2019 kl. 1:21
Fixed an issue where other civs were also utilizing the Leader UA. A certain requirement was undefined due to some other tinkering with the UA previously. It has been fixed and tested. Sorry everyone!
LordUji  [ophavsmand] 5. dec. 2019 kl. 17:53
@Chzrm3 That is very concerning and I will check the code as soon as I get home. The ability is linked directly to the player using the leader Sho Shin exclusively, and if by chance it's set as a subject requirement rather than player requirement, it could cause that issue. I will post a comment update around 12am CST
chzrm3 5. dec. 2019 kl. 16:02
I feel like this mod might be changing other civs somehow. I'm playing as Japan right now and keep getting governor titles when I use scientists/merchants.

It's possible some other mod I'm running is getting the wires crossed though cause I do have a lot going on right now, I'll try to disable other things and see how that goes.
Kaitax 2. dec. 2019 kl. 15:41
Otherwise I realy like the idea that is setup here.
A trade heavy civ that gets science bonuses through trade, or gets their trade supported by focusing on science. And everything interacts well with eachother. It just needs to be toned down a litte in my opinion.
Real good work! Thumbs up from me for sure.
Kaitax 2. dec. 2019 kl. 15:41
This looks like an interesting civ.
But I do feel like it's a little to strong.
The library should be giving the trade route, not the campus.
Gaining a governer promotion for every expending a great merchant or scientist is way to strong.
The amount of promotions one can get from that is absurd. Especially with the Shinko-sen unique unit. Not to mention, this is a leader ability that is combined with a second unique unit.
The ability without the second unique unit already is strong, but you get both? That's just a to strong if you ask me
Gaining promotions from one of the two great people types instead of both is better, but still very strong for a civ to have that already has an amazing unique campus and unique unit, the latter even helping you getting the required unique units.
LordUji  [ophavsmand] 2. dec. 2019 kl. 4:08
@AinaSan459, it can only be purchased with gold. If it's still not showing up, let me know
