P.S. I second the idea of having additional notes, whether for Recon elements or just general purposes.
Also, this may be reaching the mod's scope, but as mentioned below, a 'transmit' option might be kind of cool. Something that sync's the notebook's text to other players (or even just to archive notes in-between missions), as if calling in a SPOTREP/SITREP; (I suppose this could detract from the realism a bit, although it could be said that it's simulating an AI radio operator)
It would be nice to see this in a digital form, like a laptop or something ;)
