Unfortunately, the guidance system is laser based and has a max range of 2 km...the missile itself probably don't have enough fuel to fly 5 miles anyway. As of sinking a ship, yes it is possible as long as you damage the hull enough.

well the new update messed us this system a long time ago

If you use precision aiming it might help. There is a hotkey on the pilot seat that allows you to enable it. :D

You should make a missile that makes a sound when it flies by, like a screaming missile! It sure would scare the **** out of the enemy!

the war thunder ATGMs are able to be launched from in air and on ground aswell as having an explosive payload
