finally figured it out, the mod "Crossbow reloading" was conflicting with "The Arbalist (requires dawnguard)" or "Auto Unequip Ammo". either way, it was deleted and my game is functioning again.

i recently have had my game start to auto unequip all vanilla ammo types for bows and crossbows. i have a temporary fix, by using "Auto Unequip Ammo" which loads what ammo i loaded last, but is only working for custom ammo. In other words, I would not be able to use ranged weapons any more if not for your custom bolts, and custom "Noldor content pack" arrows. anyone know what is causing my game to auto-unequip all vanilla ammo?

Well my char's a Volkihar and I downloaded a mod that adds a Volkihar merchant who sell all types of vanilla crossbows and bolts, so I won't have any use for this mod. Sorry to lower your subscriber account.

It sucks but the vampire faction doesn't learn how to make steel bolts. I didn't want to change something so big so I restricted it in the same way steel bolts are. Sorry about that.

I saw the description, but I was asking if Volkihar vampires can craft them.

"You gain the ability to craft them when you gain the ability to craft steel bolts, except they require no perks to make them."

Soo, I'm guessing that the way to unlock crafting of iron bolts makes joining the Dawnguard a requirement to make them?

I tried to balance the damage of these against steel's because of how they are far more readily available.

i just use the rounds form the craftable gun's mod more damage than steel same job
