Why no update on this one, but update on the "Standard" DEI version?
- Is the updated "Standard" DEI version compatible with DEI: Realism?

I can verify with Awoken, after some trouble shooting, I can start a campaign fine with all my mods checked except for this one

@Remo I reduced hoplites to 240 since 300 was too OP and unwieldy. Some mob units are still 300+ though.

Says hoplites should be 300 man but my athenian hoplites are 240, same for levy hoplites, though the royal hoplites are indeed 300 man.

Shouldn't be any conflicts, all I did was add this mod.

To be honest, I find hoplites to be a bit janky. I love the "idea" of hoplites in history. But I find them to be so inflexible in a strategic sense. I'm more for using an almost medieval mindset of battles. Heavy fortifications, fantastic archers, decent line holding infantry that can peck at the enemy, and cavalry to clean up. I love Pike armies, I love hoplite armies, but they are so..... meh in an efficiency sense. Atropatkan, Rome, Armenia, etc. in DEI fit the style of proper armies if you want to win, and always win.

Atropatkan more specifically are just... yum. Good line holding infantry with big shields, spears, and bows. They can cut an enemies numbers by 25% before ever getting hit. Nice cavalry for cleaning up and their archers are almost second to none.

Am I a hoplite fan? Sure, but they are so outdated even by the start of the game.

the mod is certainly not with balance in mind. if you want a properly balanced game then base DeI is the best way to go.

Hey, I justed wanted to make clear, that it isnt possible to load this mod / or the DeI realism (main)submod correctly with the new mod launcher (no matter which load order) YOU HAVE TO: use the old launcher (library/TWR2/properties/betas/launcher release candidate)

if you get shinny new backgrounds for the main menu, then Realism is working correctly.

you're probably loading your mod in the incorrect order with the new launcher.
The 3 parts of DeI must be at the bottom, then Realism, then realism submods including this one.

Hmmm, I tried what you suggested and it didn't work still. I have the submods for Realism loaded as well and the tech one seems to work. Might be an issue with load orders with the new mod manager?

Also, not related to this submod but to realism itself. On the new mod manager, Realism economy was being wonky. The costs of buildings and units didn't scale to DEI Realism but to just base DEI. Previous 7000 dinarii triarii is now base 1700 dinarii.

Im gonna run some tests on different load orders with this new mod manager and see what happens.

it works on newly recruited units. it also needs to be loaded above realism and DeI in the game launcher

Idk why but this mod doesn't work in game for me. I have DeI and the realism mod on alongside this but when I go into the game the unit sizes aren't like the ones in the mod. I have my unit setting on Ultra. Could that what is causing issue?

Thanks for the reply, I really like your mod. I just wanted to make sure, since i started using it 50 turns in my campaign, that it wasnt error. I will keep an eye out for any such performance issue.

yes they are. in vanilla dei such units are about 300 men each, so I pumped it up to 400 to make a proper cohort unit that was usually the size of all auxilliaries and non-legionary units.
there're so many units, and while balance is not in mind, if a unit is over performing compared to base DeI let me know and I'll give it a tweak.

what do you mean? this has nothing to do with AI or stats. you can use it with any version of Realism.
