Kiki, you could have used it to either make it possible to move through the map more quickly, or to just mark places you had already explored to not get so lost.

I didn't know what the tractor beam was called, kust remembered something about asbestos. But, yeah, you got what I did, though I managed to do it with the floor.

I was able to use the tractor beam in a way like you described. only without the orange gel. I am interested to see how you managed it. I made two portals for the tractor, and pulled myself up to the ceiling . Just before entering the portal. I pulled hard to the side against a wall, catching myself half-in the beam, half out, not moving. I then quickly made two portals, one to down below, and one to the wall I was pressed against. Defying all logic, it worked.

I am interested in seeing what you did. Heads-up, though: I tweaked the map. Other than where the tractor beam hits the ceiling, all horizontal panels are now black. It is no longer possible to pull one's self upward using the orange tractor beam.

And FYI, the other comments were in response to a trollish commenter that, with more reflection, I deleted.

I know what your intention was, I just used the "Asbestos Gel Whatever stuff" to go up, then it's residual power let me place a portal in the room, allowing me to get in to any part of the maze. I'll record it and upload a video, if you like. To remedy this, you could just put a flip-panel above it, that will only activate once all the buttons are pressed, too.

My intention here was to create a maze that actually makes good use of the Portal Gun. You can portal above to examine the map, or even open a portal to look down through to examine the maze from above. You just can't use the portal gun to bypass any of the maze itself.

I like this map, though I have certainly made other maps that are more interesting to me. What IS interesting is that this map has become by far the most popular map I have ever published.
