Eddie Van Halen used a Floyd Rose bridge guitar that didn't have a pick guard.

This is a floating bridge guitar with a pick guard....

Kickass nonetheless, but it's pretty innacurate.

Oh, if anyone is wondering NO the pick guard can't be removed it's part of this model. Painting over the pick guard didn't work either I found out. It's a raised area and full body patterns like VH won't align on that pick guard.
