Just put the .vpk file into your custom folder that should fix most of the subsciption problem..:steamhappy:

Just checked again, I'm not subscribed to a single mod for the Mossberg except for this one. I don't even know how this is happening now.

Check again... The only reason for it not work is that you are still subscribed to the original mod (Brightside's)

For some reason, the glowing sights aren't always glowing - I'm not subscribed to any other 590 mod, either.

Yes, that what I noticed. And I have tried myself, but I'm no good at modeledits. I'm only good at skinning. But if you want to share how you fix problems like these I would appreciate it because then I wouldn't have to bother others with what is probably a small thing to fix:-).
