I know it's old and outdated. But I still use this. I plop it out in space and then add things to it as need arises. Someday I'll try something else... but not today.

This is a very old Legacy build. Lots of things changed to the game since this was built. Would recommend trying something more current :)

I have just built this base, tried to retrieve the block for the repairbay and the whole structure collapsed O.O First time this happened though.

I tried this one, but for me the pad really isn't big enough (or maybe I am just a bad CV driver :), and it has more inside than I need for just a place to dock. I ended up adding on to both the Grit base and whetstone starter base and saving both to blueprints to drop on new planets.

I gave this a good run through on my restart with the latest patch before release. The double-sided cargo access is brilliant! Layout, lighting, cargo, basic equipment all good. For the life of me, I don't know what your obsession is with fridges!! Way too many in most of your builds. LOL v8 Food Processors will preserve food. This base - 1 fridge, 1 food processor and 1 armor locker!! Less resource expenditure to start means less spider bites! Well done and keep rocking. From the looks of your tank designs and the v8 POI's, "The Tank" may make a comeback.

I do get that, and its not a bad idea, but IMO your bases are a little under-paneled. I haven't gotten into 8 yet, but in 7.6, I needed about 6 to keep my abandoned base from using fuel, and it required careful management. All my base had was some basic stuff, less than this farm even. So unless they changed solar power, this really isn't very much power.

Anyway, solar power is still pretty good. IMO every base should have a few, since they really can make a difference.

Also I should say these are pretty good bases. Not too complicated, expandable, cheap. I'm still new to this game, so I haven't used any of your stuff yet, but I probably will!

Thanks PlasmaJedi. I write in my descriptions that I provide solar backup. These builds are meant to be low cost starter bases as you progress, but the solar design structure is built to be extended if you are interested in adding panels. You can simply repeat the design across giving you up to 18 panels if you like. If I did this it would be much bigger and high resource cost initially. My goal is to provide solutions that can be upgraded by the player. I recommend placing the base so the panels face east to west and using biofuel in the fuel tanks as you progress to be able to upgrade the solar count to fit your okay style :) Thanks for the support!

Why your bases have so few solar panels? And you put guns on the sides of the panel section, so its harder to jusd add a few more sections. You think 3 panels can power this base? That battery is gonna spend most of its time completely empty, not saving much fuel at all. Unless maybe you left it in lower power mode and flew away for a few days and come back. Then it might last 10 minutes...
