However, the follower itself is just wearing armor made up to look avian. Which means that if you equip the pieces, you can't equip armor on top of it. The bird look technically IS armor. So you might even have to enchant it and such to get it where you want? Not sure, haven't tried it yet.
This is the closest thing I could find to "transforming" into this avian race. Perhaps the Polymorphy mod might also work on him?

I REALLY want a non-Nexus avian player race. That would be a dream come true! This guy's pretty sweet, but whay are all these followers archers?! Why not make a sword-blazing barbarian or something? I'm sick of archers running about everywhere.

I would pay for this mod to be set as a playable race, but a quick YouTube search turned up a workaround to make your character look like Drex.

The minotaur could have good one-handed and block or two-handed

The avian race could have great archery and sneak

This mod and the minotaur companion mod woulde be REALLY awesome if they also added balanced playable races!

uhm i would have a littl request that would also be a import thing from another game or if you know a mod that gives it just direction to it i realy want Flemeth (from dragon age 2) Hair+crown thing as a head gear like thing for my character D:

With the amazing follower tweaks mod, you can steal his skin which is really just bird armor

this is gorgeous, very well done. You might even approach Bethesda with the info on this. If it takes off enough, it could become another playable beast race in future games(yes, Im aware the chances of this are pretty low, but one can hope).
