Fix: Crashing on Startup [Windows 10]

Windows Defender is falsely flagging Crysis 2 as a Trojan. Because of this, it's being closed shortly after startup. This fix has been verified working on Windows 10 x64 and could possibly work on 32-bit versions. This guide will help you exclude Crysis2.exe from Windows Defender.

Adding Crysis2 as an Exclusion

If you are running Window 10:

Open Windows Defender Security Center, and then select Virus & threat protection > Virus & threat protection settings > Add or remove exclusions.
Under Add an exclusion, select the file option
Navigate to the Crysis2.exe (Usually \steam\steamapps\common\Crysis 2 Game of the Year\bin32\Crysis2.exe)

Crysis2 should now run.

update: you must be logged in as an administrator to make these changes.

Thanks, i did it and it worked for me after following your steps. I thought it was the games issue, however it was Windows Defender the one who was flagging the game as a virus. Thanks
