Playing The Trapper Strategy Guide! (Lower Ranks)
By Bilbo
My guide is all about being able to successfully take down survivors as the Trapper in Dead By Daylight. This will go over where to place traps, how to chase down survivors, and what perks to use. I am nearly only a rank 15, but this is for lower rank players like myself and this is what has quickly rose me up 5 ranks in a matter of a week or less of starting to play DBD again.

Where To Place Traps
However, the BEST way to place traps is near pallets, or in the path of the pallet, in shrubs, grasses, behind windows or in front of windows, etc. This works in both scenarios of a survivor being chased, or just walking around, doing his/her objectives. You want to think about traps to place when chasing a survivor more, (its good to think of where to place traps in both scenarios however) than when they are just walking around fixing generators and such because they get trapped much more easily while they are getting chased by The Trapper!

How To Look For And Take Down Survivors!

I guess that is proof that my strategies work, lol...or not. But anyway YOU must focus on one person at a time. This kind of also ties in with where to place traps and what perks to use, but overall, try to get them into situations where they will probably run right into your trap, and BAM...it makes it that much easier to bring them to a hook. but when they are running from you, they are looking up, focusing on getting away, and when they see a pallet, and there is a trap in the path of it, they are too distracted running for their lives to notice the trap! Also, make sure to check closets and listen for them gasping in pain if you hit them. Try to think of where they could be if a generator is making lots of noise, maybe they are hiding behind a wall near the generator. Maybe they are in a closet near the generator....etc. Do NOT be afraid to hold the attack button to do a long range hit, even when they are about to vault over a window or slide over a pallet. I do this quite often, and it works well. There is other factors too like perks which I will get into next.
Trapper Perks+Add-Ons To Use!

As you can see, I use perks mainly that make me faster in various ways, and I make it more difficult for the survivors to actually escape and succeed when I attempt to kill them. Iron Grasp for example makes it harder for survivors to wiggle out of my grasp, I use BRUTAL strength as well to kick down pallets faster, and monstrous shrine to make it harder for survivors to get out of the hook. For add-ons, use add-ons that make a trap harder to sabotage and/or get out off, and harder to see. Also use add-ons involving backpacks that allow you to carry more than one trap at a time, and ones that create more hooks.
Conclusion
Hopefully this will help you out. Remember, know where to place your traps, use your environment around you to find survivors, don't be afraid to do long range hits, use perks to speed you up and make it harder for the survivors, and finally, use add-ons to create more hooks and make your traps more resilient and abundant! Happy KILLING!
