I saw that lots of people were asking how to make refined, premium and purified materials, so I decided to make this guide. It's current as of version 1.4.6.

To get started, you must have done these things in the game:

1. Defeated the first boss in the Forgotten Shrine (available after finding 3 Way Crystals, not counting your starting crystal)
   
2. Researched the Imbuing Chamber
   
3. Created at least one Imbuing Chamber

After step 1, you can start collecting elemental Remna from level 10+ monsters. Try to get at least 3 of each element. Going to horde realms which appear after you destroy a monster spawner is a good place to collect them. You will have to fight a variety of monsters, since each has an elemental affiliation and will not drop Remna of the other elements.

• 1 Remna of Water
  
• 1 Remna of Earth
  
• 1 Remna of Fire
  
• 1 Remna of Wind
  
• 1 Remna of Light

Imbuing Chamber

• Stone (20)
  
• 2 Remna of Water

• 2 Remna of Fire
  
• 2 Remna of Wind
  
• 2 Remna of Light

Once you have defeated the first boss, these materials you have been gathering will be marked as "Imbuable" instead of "Basic Item". All of these materials are gathered from the environment or monster drops, with the exception of Cloth, Leather and Lumber which you have to craft.

To make the various tiers of materials, you will need the corresponding level of Remna to upgrade it. You can use any elemental Remna of the correct tier to upgrade materials. At this time there is no way to upgrade materials past Purified.
