Ammo Dropper

Ammo Dropper is a simple addon that allows you to turn ammo on your player into ammo entities that others can pick up. I have absolutely no idea why this did not exist beforehand, so I did it for myself.

Type ad_menu in console. Then, a menu should pop up, displaying whatever ammo you have. Choose your ammo, set how many boxes you want to drop then click the drop button.

Type in console bind (KEY) ad_menu to easily access the menu.

You can also use ConCommands ad_quickdrop and ad_quickdrop_all to quickly drop ammo for the weapon you are holding. Great if you want to share bullets in a fight.

In the options section of the Q menu, you can enable additional types of ammo entities, as well as tweak ConVars to change specific behaviors of the addon.


Drop ammo on death:
Stop bullets from vanishing the instant you drop dead. Enabling this feature allows any player to drop all their ammo when they die. You can tweak how many boxes can be dropped, as well as when they disappear.

Use-only ammo entities:
Custom ammo entities that imitate default HL2 ammo types have been created by request. They can only be picked up when used. You can choose to drop these entities instead of default ones in the options menu.

Make ammunition use-only!
Not only does this addon include use-only ammo entities, you also have the option to replace EVERY ammo entity created with it!
Note: Forced replacing creates a different entity, and may not work with some addons.
