This was my second attempt at an Amazon faction overhaul, except it's a lot less ambitious. By just converting the units of one of my favourite cultures, the Illyrians, I could focus on trying to make them look fitting, without repeatedly breaking the game and/or save files.

I don't have any plans of changing the Illyrians gameplay-wise. If I ever do, it'll be an optional mod. Have fun!


This mod to turns all Illyrian units (except for Slave Slingers & Javelinmen and the generic greek artillery units) into women.

It affects all Illyrian factions, not just the Ardiaei. I tried my best to make them look cool but still Illyrian and keeping their rugged hellenic/barbarian aesthetic intact.


Going to post some screenshots soon, I hope.

its fact that women didnt exist in this time period they were invented around 1458 ad/BCE this is sooo inaccurate lol:steammocking:

Great work, love the mod concept! Would you ever consider doing a similar mod to this for the DEI Illyrians? There's a famous queen of the Ardiaei named Teuta (The woman in the picture of your mod!) who fought against roman expansion, and I'd love to have these unit models to beat the hordes of latins back into italy :)

Yup, I called it Ardiaei Amazons because I have a thing for alliterations lol
I apologize for any confusion but since I wrote in the description that the mod changes all ILLYRIAN units I had hoped it was clear enough. I'll just add another disclaimer ^^
