Don't bother trying to detect a mimic by sight. Instead, LISTEN for them!
A disguised mimic will emit a faint clicking noise as you approach. If you have Leverage I (or better), then back off and grab things to hurl at any other objects you think the mimic may be disguised as.
Very nice guide, thorough and the minimum spoilers makes it ideal for newcomers! I hear many people have trouble with Prey as it isn't a particularly easy game and bounce off of it, so resources like this that get more people through it is a blessing.
The Gloo-Gun is the most powerful tool in exploration. You can reach almost everywhere with it. It can also completely immobilize almost every enemy.
The Stun-Gun is the most powerful safety-tool in combat. Only 2 enemies are immune to stun. Stunlock is easily achievable and viable ammunitionwise.
A Cystoid-Nest can be deleted when medium-large objects are thrown through it. Or popped and depleted with 1-5 bolts from the Huntress Boltcaster (depending on aim and luck).
Flying enemies are not immune to falldamage. If only you could make them fall.
The most useful abilities are Leverage (human) and Telekenesis (typhon). Be creative on their usage, especially with Telekenesis (manual overrides, terminals, instant pickup of objects)
