By PAPA PINE
A few ways to make your FPS count on King of the Kill significantly higher, and making the game feel more smooth.

Updates
March 15, 2017: Hello, if you saw my guide earlier, you probably saw a chapter showing you how to use all your threads. I was informed by Hanii that that doesn't apply to your game, so I removed that from the list. I will still update more to the guide as much as I can. So if you know of any others, comment below or add me!

March 17, 2017: Added two more chapters regarding the nVidia Control Panel and included a video!
Information
Before I start this guide, you don't need to put anything on Read-Only! You can if you want to but some people think that can crash your game at times!
Turning off Shadows
You can turn off your shadows in H1Z1, but not completely. You will only have shadows within a 10-20 foot radius of yourself. It's very easy to do as well.

First you're going to want to go to your local H1Z1 KotK folder, and open your UserOptions.ini

Change the ShadowQuality to 1 like shown in the picture.

After that, when you launch your game change your region to a different region (I personally switch to Australia) then switch back to your own region (North America for me). If you don't know how to, press on Settings -> Region -> Then from there you can checkmark a region. It doesn't matter which one you go to, as long as you switch back!

Afterwards you'll see a noticable difference in your shadow distance. It should look something like the picture shown below.

Useroptions.ini
I spent a while trying to find the right settings for H1Z1. I think these work the best for me, but it is best to play around with your settings to find what works for you. Remember, if you want to use the shadow glitch keep the ShadowQuality on 1!

It's also best to find the perfect resolution for you.. But I personally like 1600x900 right now, but I grew up playing 1920x1080. If you lower it, it may also boost your FPS. Try it for yourself.

[Display] FullscreenRefresh=0 Maximized=1 FullscreenWidth=1600 FullscreenHeight=900 WindowedWidth=1904 WindowedHeight=1042 Mode=Windowed FullscreenMode=Fullscreen HDPixelPlus=0.900000 RefreshRate=0 [Rendering] EffectsQuality=2 OverallQuality=-1 TextureQuality=1 ShadowQuality=1 FloraQuality=1 RenderDistance=500.000000 UseDepthOfField=0.000000 Gamma=0.150000 MaximumFPS=900 UseLod0a=1 Smoothing=0 SpeedTreeLOD=1 ModelQuality=1 FogShadowsEnable=0 AO=0 InteriorLighting=0 VerticalFOV=67 LightingQuality=0 ParticleLOD=1 VSync=0

To explain why I use HDPixelPlus=0.90 instead of 1.00, I use it because it helped my FPS surprisingly, and I think the game looks better and more sharp.

Also use 500 RenderDistance while you're on the ground, it helps your FPS a lot, especially when you're in big cities. I use 2000 when parachuting though, and 1000-1500 during Car1Z1. Also if you didn't know, you can use [{ to make your render distance go lower by 500, and ]} to make it go higher by 500. You can go down to 500 and up to 6000.
nVidia Control Panel
You can change some settings in nVidia control panel. If you don't know how to open it up, right click on your desktop -> Click nVidia control panel -> Go to manage 3D settings -> Program Settings -> From here you should see a dropdown with some games, choose King of the Kill. If it is not there, then click on Add -> And you should see it there towards the top if you sort it by recently used. From there you can put these settings. But you can also play around with it. Thank you to Wizzite for these settings. If you want to watch his video on this content if you don't understand. He explains it perfectly in his video. I put the video in a chapter below.

I apologize to AMD users, I have never owned an AMD card. I wouldn't know how to do this on AMD.
Video
YouTuber Wizzite made a video on ways to get more FPS if you're not able to. Even using some from this guide. Check out the video below! He makes a bunch of good informational videos for King of the Kill!
