Step One: Get out of the spawn area and collect 300 wood for a spear. Do not throw your spear at nakeds, if they pick it up they will gain the advantage and probably kill you, instead use it to threaten them and give them a jab if they get to close

Step Two: Gather nodes and wood, make a pic axe first as you gather more wood than stone. then make an axe and gather at least 2k of wood and stone

Step Three: Make a 1x1 with 2 doorframes and 2 walls so it can be expanded to a 2x2. upgrade to stone and add 2 doors, wood or metal.

Step Four: Make a TC, then a furnace and bag and chest.

Now your done, thats your first 30-1 hour on a vanila server. from this point on you are upgrading your base and gathering more reasources.
